Amanda Ater, senior regional manager of Woda Cooper Co treats tenants like cattle and will squeeze every last dime out of you. You mean nothing to her. Property managers that work for her mean nothing to her. The housing programs she works with mean nothing to her. I had been a tenant at Jenkins Lofts for years through the 811 rental assistance program which has been a godsend for me, pulling me out of homelessness and giving me, and disabled people like me, an opportunity to live independently. Woda Cooper Co has made it their mission to mess up every single process that my housing program has put in place to keep me housed there. My lease states I am to receive $90 utility allowance checks every month to cover water, electric, and internet. The first year I lived there I received 5 out of the 12 I was owed and had to beg for money to cover my utilities for those months. These checks have never been on time and are very rarely in the correct amount. The second year living there I received a 3 day eviction notice due to a clerical error, and ANOTHER on my third year living there because of their extreme negligence and complete incompetence about my housing program. Nobody wants to work there, a constant revolving door of property managers. I cannot even count how many undertrained unprofessional staff they have hired, fired, and moved with no warning. God forbid you request maintenance, I have submitted maintenance requests that have gone several months with no resolution despite several reminders. Not to mention the ROACHES!! I had to threaten legal action just to get my security deposit back months after I moved out. I thank God I was able to transfer away from this complex.

When I first saw the place, I was honestly hesitant to move there because of my first impression. But the new manager has completely turned things around! He’s made some major improvements, and it really shows. There are still a few things that need work, but I’m confident he’s going to get everything where it needs to be.
