Good apartments, environment, and nearby public school is very good, good greenery

When I was first looking at this apartment complex a year and a half ago, I was concerned by some of these reviews. I am so glad that I decided to give Stonegate a try anyway. This is my second year living in the apartment complex and I have been very pleased with Stonegate Heights. The area is quiet, safe and I've never had any issues with neighbors. Maintenance and management respond quickly to any issues. The apartment itself is clean, cozy and spacious. There is a mix of families and young professionals who live here.The location is also great and is just a couple minutes away from 81 and 481.

Very unprofessional, arrogant, and rude owner. Be careful and read your lease terms. They will find anything just to charge from your security deposit. The owner still charged me for cleaning the bathroom and oven even though it's already cleaned. I should have not bothered and spent my time. Take pictures when you move in and always do pre inspection. Hired professional carpet cleaners to clean the apartment after she yelled at me. Carpet cleaners even told me it's normal wear and tear. Returned the rest of our deposit late after several text messages and emails. So demanding but very slow on meeting her own end. Pictures are the bathroom and oven which we spent hours cleaning and she still charged us 150$ for cleaning from our security deposit. Pros: The place is quiet and convenient to my workplace.

Stonegate is one of the best apartments I have lived in. Neighbors are nice and the area is quiet and peaceful. Staff are honestly nice and helpful especially Leo. I read some reviews that maintenance do not fix anything. That’s wrong, I use the App to place request and issues get fixed within 24 hours. Never had a problem. I highly recommend this property and I give it 5 stars.

Moving in was okay, the lady who we spoke to was very friendly. Moving out was not. Apparently the woman who we interacted with has moved on and the person who replaced her said rather insulting things to my wife who was initially cleaning. They said "I've never seen a worse carpet in my life!!" but Stanley Steemer told us it was "normal wear and tear" and they've seen it a lot because many tenants have hired them due to landlord complaints during their move out. Positive: The apartment itself was okay. We paid just above $1k/mo for 800+sqft and only had to pay for electricity. The community is pretty quiet and during COVID it was nice to hear all the children playing. Plenty of safe parking. Getting large packages felt safe as they deliver to your door. All the tenants I met were really very very nice. Its location near 81, 481, Nedrow, and Manlius was very convenient. T-Mobile has insanely high speed LTE (130+Mbps) in that complex. Their web site for requesting repairs isn't too bad. Our bathroom was gigantic. Negative: The laundry room is rarely functional, especially the dryers, but Jamesville's air is rather dry anyway. Every spring there's a big fly swarming problem (I think they get in between the patio doors or through the bathroom vent?), so get yourself a Bug-a-Salt and some fly ribbons. There was a slight ant problem too in my building, so get ant traps. Don't rely on your mailbox for important mail (legal documents, checks, etc) sometimes the entire panel of doors will be left open, exposing your deliveries to the world. Every Sunday night the trash pile around the dumpster becomes a gigantic mountain, and you have to run around the skunks. After COVID, maintenance response time was a bit slower. Entering the parking lot is a huge dip, so watch your suspension/tires, it gets annoying after three months. There's a Canadian geese factory hidden somewhere on the grounds, they poop all over the place and some will chase and hiss at you. Do I recommend it? Ehhh.... If you REALLY need to be in the Jamesville school district, I guess this is okay? Looking back, I might have tried to look at more places before being a cheapo and settling on Stonegate.
