Before I even moved into a Lighthouse Living property (The Atwood in Pleasantville), property manager Allie was super-helpful in ensuring a smooth transition. Upon moving in, she affirmed my initial impression and has been exceptionally service-oriented, knowledgeable, and responsive. She is also down-to-earth, personable, positive, and relatable, which makes each business interaction a pleasure. No request is “a big deal”, and each is handled swiftly, kindly, and with her strong desire to be as accommodating as possible. Allie treats each tenant as a priority, with a genuine desire to ensure satisfaction. The Atwood’s loss is The Abendroth’s gain, and tenants are lucky to have Allie at the helm.

The Abendroth in Portchester is an absolute gem of an apartment building. The amenities are perfect. The staff is incredibly responsive. At first, I'll admit I was sketched about the valet parking so I just like to park my own car but it's totally convenient. Despite the reviews on here about How the walls are thin or that you can hear your neighbors are total nonsense. The construction is solid. You can't hear your neighbors. Kudos to the staff that made the move-in super easy kudos to the staff for keeping the building, clean and being responsive again

From the moment we inquired about our apartment at Abendroth, the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Jackie, Gabriel, and Allie have all been incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional every step of the way. No matter how many questions I had or what we needed during our move, they were always available, eager to help, and genuinely caring. The level of service here goes far beyond the leasing office as well. The garage staff somehow always seem to be one step ahead — every time they see my car pull in, they are attentive, friendly, and make coming home feel effortless. The building itself is absolutely beautiful, with every modern amenity you could ever need. But what truly sets Abendroth apart is the people. The friendly faces and genuine warmth you are greeted with every single day are truly the icing on the cake. We are so happy to call this place home!

If you are considering touring or applying to The Abendroth, save yourself the time, stress, and money and look elsewhere. This building is the definition of “all aesthetics, no substance.” It is one of the most poorly managed “luxury” properties I have ever experienced. The marketing is incredibly misleading. You are sold an image of upscale, luxury living, but the reality is constant dysfunction hidden behind a nice lobby and curated Instagram posts. During my time living here, there were repeated false fire alarms at all hours of the night and early morning. Residents were constantly forced outside because the system repeatedly malfunctioned. Eventually people became numb to the alarms because they happened so often, which is honestly dangerous. A luxury building should not feel this chaotic. The building also had recurring hot water issues, elevator problems, constant noise complaints, smoke drifting into apartments (non smoking building), barking dogs left alone for hours, and ongoing maintenance frustrations that never seemed fully resolved. Always met with an excuse. For the rent they charge, the level of dysfunction is honestly embarrassing. The elevators felt unsafe. I experienced incidents where they abruptly stopped/dropped and I once became stuck. Instead of confidence in the building, there was constant anxiety wondering what problem would happen next. Management was by far the worst part of living here. Completely unprofessional, dismissive, not qualified, disorganized, and more concerned with protecting the building’s image than actually helping residents. Complaints did not feel confidential, and there was an obvious culture of gossip and oversharing that created tension between residents. I genuinely lost trust in management’s ability to handle issues professionally. Calling a resident “daddy’s money” & “white privileged” is unacceptable especially when this resident (me) is supposed to call this place “home.” After reporting smoke issues from another resident’s unit/patio area, I later ended up being confronted physically by that resident because management told him it was me. Professionalism and discretion were not priorities here. If you want to park your car at the building, you must use the mandatory valet which is $175/month. It is ran by under qualified (again) employees who care more about hearing about resident gossip, letting people into the building who do not have authority, recklessly driving cars, and not caring about doing a simple job : parking cars. They caused over $5,000 worth of damage to my vehicle and management in the Abendroth will tell you it is a 3rd party and bow out - forcing you to submit a claim through Parking Systems - only for it to be denied. Be prepared to argue with this staff about doing the right thing and compensating you for the damages they created. The overall environment became exhausting. Instead of feeling like a luxury residence, it often felt chaotic, immature, and poorly supervised. The building looks nice online, but living there was a completely different story. Having multiple attempts of people trying to break into your unit at late hours at night with no follow up or apology was especially scary for a single 25 y/o female living alone. The most telling part is that many residents I spoke to seemed frustrated with management and building. Once the excitement of the aesthetic wears off, you are left dealing with the reality of how the property runs. There are far too many luxury buildings in the area to spend this kind of money on one with this many ongoing issues and this level of unprofessional management. I would never live here again and would strongly advise anyone considering this building to think twice before signing a lease. I broke mine due to my safety and was asked to sign an NDA which I declined. That should tell you everything you need to know. Also, don’t be fooled by the good reviews. Most reviews on here are from family members or asked to write a review for a free drink at the monthly resident gatherings.

We’ve had an amazing experience living here and truly can’t recommend it enough. The building is always incredibly clean and well-maintained, and you can tell there’s a lot of care put into every detail. Martha does a fantastic job keeping the common areas spotless and welcoming—it never goes unnoticed. The amenities really make this place feel special, especially the coffee shop and valet parking. It adds such a nice touch to everyday living. Maintenance has also been outstanding. We submitted a request and Minor showed up the same day, right on time, and fixed the issue immediately. That level of responsiveness is rare and very appreciated. The entire staff goes above and beyond. The Management team is always friendly, helpful, and easy to work with, which makes a huge difference! We also feel very safe here, and the location is super convenient with great restaurants and shops nearby. Overall, this has been one of the best places we’ve ever leased from—we’re so happy to call it home.
