200 Montague Brooklyn Heights

I lived in this building for over 3 years, since it first opened. The super and the staff are great, hardworking people, and I will miss them. The property management company, Twin Pines (formerly Pinnacle City Living), however, is a different story. I moved out more than a month ago and have yet to receive my $5000 security deposit despite several emails and calls attempting to do so. As another reviewer mentioned, they have been virtually unresponsive to my emails, and I'm now having to pursue submitting a complaint with the NY AG. Twin Pines predominantly manages low-income/affordable housing) and the level of service reflects that. Don't expect anything close to a luxury building experience. I would not recommend renting from this management company if you are looking for responsiveness and professionalism. I've had much better experiences with Related, Equity Residential and Bozzuto companies, who clearly care about their residents and give you the level of service that you're paying the premium for. I'd highly recommend these management companies over Twin Pines.

I lived at 200 Montague for a little over 2 years and couldn’t have been happier! The team there is amazing and so helpful and kind! Always quick to respond when help was needed. Great communication when there was general maintenance happening with accurate eta’s on when we could expect them back up and running (usually the elevators). All of the community spaces were always clean, and I’ve never seen so many cute dogs in one building! Can’t recommend 200 Montague enough! If I hadn’t had to move back home to be with family, I’d still live there.

We loved living here for 2.5 years, the staff - Nik, Dimani, Peter, Jorge, Tadji - are all awesome! However, the behind the scenes property management is terrible. We moved out more than a month ago and are still waiting for our $5,000+ deposit refund to be returned. I've emailed and called several times, and am just met with excuse after excuse, and no one seems to be accountable or responsible for issuing the deposit. Requests to escalate or speak to someone who resolve this have hit a dead end. At this point we have no choice but file a complaint with the State Attorney General.

Beautiful building with kind staff. Peter is one of the greatest. You can always find a smile on his face and a warm welcome home. He’s often cleaning around the entrance and goes out of his way to buy his own healthier treats for the dogs in the building. Nik is also amazing to be on site. He’s responsive on building link and takes the time to know tenants by name. -1 Star because the gym could have more machines/be organized better. They removed two thread mills which were the most used. The filter in the water fountain has also been in need of a change for awhile. Other than these one off things, fantastic place to live!

I viewed a few apartments here a couple of months back. Management showed three apartments, of which the first one was already rented at the time of the showing. They only showed it knowing that this apartment would keep us interested. The problem was that my husband and I communicated with different members of management that gave us different information. Ultimately, the members started fighting over who should deal with us. We decided not to go for any of the apartments. It was an uncomfortable situation for us. Even though the building amenities seemed nice, the apartments are tiny, and the management is terrible. I would not recommend it.
