The problem that I have with mitchel homes is that if you have a military family living under you or next door to you and they don't like you for whatever reason (example color of your skin) , they can make a complaint to the management office and you will get evicted. Tayfun ( the director) made it very clear military comes first! And that he doesn't want any complaints from military to reach corporate. The sad part is I'm a tenant that pays my rent early and doesn't cause any trouble with a house full of women. But yet my neighbor's under me who is military wants complete silence all day long, but at 12 PM in the afternoon, I would like to watch a little TV. I should not be policed in my own home, especially during the day, I can understand if this is after 10 PM. There is no sound installation in the home so you can hear every foot step. If you are a civilian, just understand that military always has the upper hand in this community, even if they are racist!

This apartment complex used to be really nice and peaceful place when I visited my family there, but unfortunately it has changed a lot. I visited my family yesterday and I noticed people hanging around near the maintenance building smoking weed and playing loud music. My mother also mentioned that people were doing hair in the parking lot, which makes the property feel less organized and less professional that it once did. Last night when I left to go home between 1am-2am, there was still noise and activity outside, which can be frustrating for residents trying to rest. I love the Mitchel Homes community. I just don’t want it to turn into a bad place.

I lived there for almost 4 years and the previous management was awesome! Gloria was fantastic but in the last couple years new management moved in and messed it all up! Rent increased, which hurt the long time tenants that are civilians or retires. Then with the increase there was nothing done to the community, until maybe the last 6 months , and it was new sidewalks. I asked them to fix my back yard after my son busted his lip open riding his scooter and all they did was put yellow spray paint over the crack( he was 2 what does paint supposed to do). I had mold in my outside storage area, they just painted it white! Don’t get me started on the A/C that only worked downstairs, then upstairs was a sauna! Thank God most military members moved away because it’s not worth the headache they cause. Then to move out, they’ll charge you for all the “issues” you complained about, but force you to pay for it. Take your money elsewhere, especially military members! I loved living here before the new management came, the community that was there is what made it amazing and such a great neighborhood but it’s not the same and it’s sad.

I lived in Mitchell for 4 years. It’s easy to move in (no first/last month/security deposit) and the staff is responsive to emergencies. The appliances are outdated as is the decor/layout and the community is non existent. But if you have kids or need more space this is the spot. If you’re a single military service member, I’d recommend you request a BAH advance in concurrence with your PCS and look elsewhere as this neighborhood is not for you.
