I lived in the Colonial Commons for about 20 months. Overall it was a Five-star experience. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to live in a well maintained property close to downtown Schenectady. Please note that my cons are so people with pet peeves know what they are getting into, in my opinion the cons are far out weighed by the pros. Pros: - Plenty of parking - Owners are great with regular maintenance - Annual rent escalations defined in the lease - Elevator was probably working all but a day or two during my 20 months - Affordable with cable and basic internet included - Clean property - Owners have no issue calling out bad behavior and keeping a neighborly standard - Security cameras - FOB and keypad entry to the building - Affordable heated extra storage Cons: - Noise travels; through walls, floors and windows. I probably would not want to live on the roadside - Smoking. Smoking is allowed in a Gazebo that in my opinion is located too close to the apartments. Thus causing odor pollution along with noise pollution with the gathering of smokers - Owners are not very responsive through the resident app but I never tried to call. I would also say it is a bit confusing on the best comms path to communicate with management - The included internet provided was not enough for me to work remotely. But with a $10 per mo. Upgrade with spectrum it was more than enough In conclusion I highly recommend this apartment complex but I would advise if noise and smoke (no smoking inside but outside) bothers you this may not be the place. If you are looking for a place where the owners take care of the property, offer a very fair rent, and need parking close to downtown the this is the place.

Yea they’re modern but extremely poorly built. You can hear everything your neighbor does… and I mean everything. Property manager never gets back to you. Got my lease end date wrong and forced me to move out 2 weeks early.
