Stay Away From Las Palmas in Norcross, GA! I cosigned a lease for a dear friend and helped her relocate from out of state. The office knew that we would be arriving on July 15, 2025 from Florida. On the day we arrived we were informed that they had noticed a small problem with cockroaches in the unit we had selected. They offered a different unit, but upon inspection, that unit had cockroaches as well. We decided to go with the original unit which they sprayed for pests that day. We were told that spraying brings out more bugs which begs the question, why did they wait until the day of move in to inspect the apartment? They were right! That night we killed well over 100 cockroaches. To say it was infested is an understatement and it took several sprays to get the problem under control. Sadly, that was not the worst condition of the apartment. The next morning, we wanted to make sure there was an AC filter installed so I opened up the air return. There was no filter, but we found what appeared to be 10 years worth of garbage and thick gray dust & dirt sitting at the bottom of the air return. Both of us had been coughing and sneezing all morning and this unhealthy condition explained why. There were numerous other issues, including cracked windows, broken blinds, warped cabinets, cabinet doors that fall off, and the list goes on. Yes, they did rectify issues when they arose; however, all of these issues were preventable had they just done due diligence prior to our arrival and properly maintained the units along the way. Not to mention, that during the stay, there were several building fires, including the one we rented. Vehicle break-ins occurred on a regular basis. The front gate was broken and left open for months at a time leaving an extreme sense of a lack of security. Gunshots can be heard several times a week. And again the list goes on. Stay away from Las Palmas!
