We moved our college-aged daughter into Optimist Lofts over a year ago. I wasn’t super thrilled with the garage, which felt unsafe, but the people seemed kind and responsive. Then, she got overrun by German cockroaches. My daughter and I both spoke to the manager, who seemed to be trying to help. Then, we realized how bad the infestation was, The bugs were crawling out of the outlets, so none of the outlets were working. They were crawling over her in her bed and into all of her appliances and electronics. We really were unsure what to do. Ultimately, we decided to move her out. We have since gotten a letter saying we owe for an extra month’s rent because they didn’t have enough notice, and they sent us to collections.The living environment was absolutely horrible and she needed to move. I’m really disappointed in how they chose to treat a young adult just starting out. We really had such high hopes for this place. Anyway, she’s safely moved into another apartment. There are no bugs and the area is safer. Also, and in case the owner does read this review, someone should sweep the staircases in the apartment buildings. It is such a small thing, but it ultimately speaks volumes about the way you care for the place.
