Governors Gate Apartments

Sandra and Brittany at the office are wonderful. They are professional and personable and really make you feel welcome. I just moved in and I absolutely love my apartment! I'm in a gated "community" so I feel safe. The apartments are well kept and the amenities are definitely a perk!

Do not come live here! I have lived here now for 12 months, my lease is for 14 months. They require a 60 day notice to vacate and as soon as you give notice, they will be harassing you over scheduling a time for a pre move out inspection. I do not even move out until 04/11 and they’ve been hounding me non stop about doing an inspection next week - two months before I even have to move out! I tried to explain that I work from home & couldn’t take that type of disruption and will be taking time off closer to my move out date for the move, so that’s when the pre move out inspection would work best for me. They’re going to have the nerve to call me and leave a voicemail saying they’re coming tomorrow, regardless! I work from home and it’s a full disruption to my work day to have it done. I then called the office back to try to get it moved to closer to my move out date - they did not care and still are forcing it for this week, again 2 months before I move out. Yet, they’ve done nothing about the piles of dog poop not getting cleaned up in the grassy common areas, constant smell of smoke coming from people’s apartments, our trash compactor not working from people piling up household items in it, the front and back gates not working half the time, etc. This place is too expensive for the lack of grounds keeping and amenities to not be in working order. I’d save your money and look elsewhere at other apartments - they do not care about current renters at all or the grounds, just about whatever “processes” they deem fit. I am glad to be leaving here!

I’ve only been living here for less than two months, so I know it’s still early to fully judge a place—but something happened today that made me want to write this review. This afternoon, I heard what sounded like a waterfall coming from my bedroom window. When I looked, it wasn’t water—it was buzzing. Hundreds of insects (they looked like slightly longer flies; I’m not sure what they’re called) were somehow getting into my bedroom even though the window was closed. I’m absolutely terrified of insects—especially flying ones—and I live alone, so I started having a full-on panic attack. I ended up running to the leasing office crying and frantic (yes, a grown woman sobbing—it's ridiculous, phobias aren’t logical!). Angela was there and immediately contacted maintenance. Mike, the maintenance technician, came over right away and was truly amazing. He found a crack in the window frame, brought in a large vacuum to clean everything up, sealed the crack, and even checked the other window to make sure it was secure—all while I was still shaking and crying. Huge shoutout to Angela and Mike for being so kind, supportive, and fast. No one made me feel silly or brushed me off. Moments like this show how much this community cares about its residents. I’m really grateful—and I won’t forget how well they handled this. Thank You!

I recently had the pleasure of living at Governors Gates Apartments, and I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautiful apartments that are both stylish and well-maintained. A special shout-out goes to my leasing professional, Mrs. Sandra. Her dedication to providing a safe and affordable living environment truly sets this community apart. She was always available to address any questions or concerns, making the leasing process smooth and enjoyable. Maintenance has been top-notch; I’ve had absolutely no issues during my stay. The staff is prompt and efficient, ensuring that everything is taken care of swiftly. One of the highlights of living here is the stunning pool area. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful pools you could ever ask for—a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Overall, Governors Gates Apartments offers an exceptional living experience with outstanding service. If you’re considering moving to Pensacola, this is definitely the place to be! Deanna Quinley

Yesterday I had to move to another state, but during my almost 2 years living in governors gate, I can only tell good things about it. The staff is really helpful, maintenance helps quickly, the amenities are really pretty, never felt unsafe, great location, amazing view, trees everywhere, food trucks (certain occasions), good neighbors. One of the main reasons I loved Pensacola that much is because of this place!
