I really enjoy The Retreat East and all that they have to offer! From the luxury amenities, spacious and updated apartments, and the kind staff, it really is an amazing place to live. I also love how they show their residents care and appreciation! My favorite part is how they do events from free food, bouquet making, free professional headshots, and more each week. It makes the experience incredible!

The elevator is still broken. My daughter has been here for 6 months now and the elevator is still not working. Also, I don't know who is supposed to be working and keeping this place clean, but its disgusting!!! Really, what are you all doing with the hundreds of thousands of dollars that you charging people to stay here???? The elevator in the garage is still broken..... This place is a joke!!! When you tour the place, they make it seem so wonderful. But, when you actually move in, you realize that you may have made a costly mistake. My daughter has been here less than 2 months and has had issues with the internet multiple times, which pisses me off because as a college student, the internet is a very important part to her succeeding in school. They don't allow you to have an outside internet provider to come in and provide internet service. When the internet is down, no has an answer to when it will be fixed. But, when the rent is due, you receive multiple emails reminding you to pay the rent!! The lease that was signed stated that internet was included and this is only true half the time, so maybe I should pay half the rent!!! Please don't be fooled by the hype!! Go somewhere else, that actually have services that work properly. Also, the elevator in the parking wasn't working back in August when my daughter moved in and it still isn't working!! Where is our money going??? We definitely won't be renewing a lease here!! Stop ripping people off!!

AWFUL PLACE. Front desk staff is awesome but whoever is above them are incompetent. The amenities advertised do not work and it takes weeks for things to get fixed. The hot tub that was broken a year ago is still broken now. I have complained about a beeping of a faulty sprinkler system for 2 WEEKS and nothing has been done to fix it. Constant beeping every day. Keeps me up at night and gives me headaches. The wifi was out for the first 4 weeks of the school semester and I was unable to do schoolwork at home. Security is laughable, because apparently homeless people and non-residents get in, use the pool and garage, and occasionally break in to cars and apartments! After a couple break-ins they told us they’d put in security cameras by December… still haven’t seen them. Silverfish, lizards, and roaches crawl from the corners of the rooms, so if you sign here expect unwanted roomates! All of this for the STEEP price of 1100+!!

I’ve been living at The Retreat East since August 2024, and overall, it’s a pretty good place to live. There are lots of shopping and restaurant options nearby, the gym and study room are great, you're close to a bus stop, and they provide a shuttle to UCF, and the noise level at night is not bad at all. I moved here from Winter Garden, so I really appreciate the community events, they’re a nice bonus, especially if you’re new to the area. Maintenance is definitely the best part of living here. Every time I’ve needed help, the response has been fast and friendly. Special shoutout to Lenny from maintenance, throughout my entire time being here, he’s consistently gone above and beyond, super easy to talk to, and you can tell he genuinely cares about residents. If you have an issue, ask for Lenny! Management-wise, the payment process is very smooth and they do their best, but communication can be hit-or-miss, especially during busy times. Sometimes it seems like a lot is on one person’s plate, so things can move slowly or leave you feeling a bit stuck. The front office staff is friendly and does a really good job making sure you’re acknowledged, even when they’re busy. I also really like Ottie (the texting helper number) for more complex issues. However, my main suggestion is to improve communication around timelines for things like transfers or bigger concerns. It would help residents feel more reassured and less in limbo. Roommates and conflict: Like any college housing, you might run into issues, but I appreciated that there’s a mediation process available. It’s not perfect, but it’s as fair as you can expect given how many people live here. Overall: If you’re proactive and patient, The Retreat East is a good place to live. Great location, solid amenities, awesome maintenance staff, and a real sense of community. Just be prepared to follow up with management if you need something handled quickly.
