Plaza on University

The reviews of Plaza should be taken at face value. The apartments are fine, and there is nothing wrong with any of the amenities. If you want things done in a timely manner with office staff, you won't get that here. I have reached out to the office several times about various issues, but they have been completely useless. They never answer the phone and are of little help when you truly need something. After issues with my roommates, I was told to wait for a response. I'm still waiting and had to resolve the issues myself. I can only imagine what would have happened if the issue were escalated and I felt unsafe in my own apartment. The office would not care at all and would not make any effort to help any students who need assistance.

We had visited Plaza on University to look for housing near UCF. We had Olivia Y. assist us with a very detailed and informative tour. She made it very easy to register for the lease and made us comfortable with the decision. She’s a great asset to the team.

Reply to management: We went through the proper channels by reporting the incident to the police, and also report it to your management. You even informed my son that you would be checking the security camera footage. It’s been over a month now, and I have yet to receive any updates or resolution. Have the cameras been reviewed, as you mentioned? What exactly is being done to address this issue? I’ve come across reviews from other residents regarding stolen bikes and other items, and it seems there has been little action taken to prevent or resolve such incidents. Could you please provide an update on what your management team is doing to address thefts within the apartment complex? I’m hoping for a prompt response and resolution to this matter, as it has already taken far longer than expected. First review: I’m honestly starting to feel really worried about this place. My son’s bike was stolen, and it’s been an entire month with absolutely no updates. It’s frustrating and disappointing. We chose this place because it’s close to the university, and I really wanted to feel that he was in a safe, reliable environment. But right now, I’m just upset that nothing has been done about his stolen bike. Every day that goes by with no answers makes me more anxious and frustrated.

⭐ Do not recommend The Plaza. They operate a bait-and-switch scheme and take advantage of students. For over two weeks, they advertised that the housing application and processing fees would be waived, but when seven students went in, they were all charged the full amount. Staff were asked about promotion but stated they don’t do that there, then used pressure tactics, claiming they were “running out of units” to push students into signing without having time to talk with their parents. When questioned, they gave conflicting excuses—first saying it was for the current year, then blaming “corporate,” which has not returned any calls or emails. This is false advertising and unethical business practice. The Office of the Attorney General should look into this. Taking advantage of students trying to pay for their education is unacceptable. $320 is a lot of money to these kids, and The Plaza should be absolutely ashamed.

RUN FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!! There’s so many other student housing, avoid this one at all costs. First off, the walls are paper thin. You will hear your upstairs neighbor going through their drawers. Not only walking. They DONT spray for bugs. No matter how clean your unit is I had cockroaches coming through my outlets and had to buy outlet covers and roach traps. WILL come in your apartment unannounced. They kicked everyone out for a day to redo floors while you’re living there? Sorry, “made you move out”. Yes, they gave us a long “warning”. I followed all their instructions and I still had damages done to personal property and my cabinets were gone through by the flooring company. I taped my cabinets so no one would go through them because it’s uncomfortable having strangers in your home when you have no choice. The flooring company USED ALL my toilet paper, removed the tape off of my cabinets and got themselves another roll. It’s very uncomfortable having strangers destroy and use your stuff and you have no say. Worked with the manager Michel Benjamin about this issue and wouldn’t hear back from him unless I contacted the front office. Only to be denied compensation two weeks after my complaints. Added pictures from me being denied compensation, my maintenance requests this past year and my before and after pictures of this “flooring project”. Take everything as you will but I can’t wait to get FAR FAR AWAY from this property.
