I recently considered purchasing a villa in Dudley HOPA community for my retired parents and their beloved maltese. Unfortunately, the experience was far from welcoming, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. Firstly, the community's strict requirements make it difficult for many people to buy properties here. They mandate that all residents must earn a minimum of $30,000 annually. This is problematic for retirees like my parents, whose combined income does not meet this threshold despite being financially stable. Moreover, only three people are allowed to live in a two-bedroom villa, which limits family flexibility and support. Specially considering my parents are old and need constant supervision. To add to the frustration, the community has an unyielding no-pet policy, with exceptions only for support animals. Our dog, who is a cherished member of the family, would not be welcome. I also discovered that even if I wanted to purchase the villa for my parents, I would be required to live there as well, which defeats the purpose of providing them with their own space. The interaction with the community representative was particularly disappointing. She was cold and seemed more interested in discussing HOA history of issues with previous residents than addressing the needs and well-being of current and prospective residents. It's disheartening to see a community meant for older persons implement such stringent and exclusionary policies. I hope they reconsider their approach to make it a more inclusive and compassionate place for retirees and their families.

It is a very quiet community.
