β 1 Star β Beware Before Signing a Lease at Pines West Apartments (Formerly Bell Apartments) My daughter rented an apartment here while attending school, and I co-signed the lease. We specifically chose this property because it was advertised as a secure, gated community. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Over time, the property rapidly declined. Gates were frequently broken or left open, security was virtually nonexistent, lighting was inadequate, and unauthorized individuals were regularly able to access the property. My daughter experienced harassment and ultimately had her vehicle broken into while living there. After the break-in, management instructed us to obtain a police report, which we did. Due to the ongoing safety concerns, we had multiple conversations with management and were led to believe that we would be allowed to terminate the lease and move out because of the circumstances. Based on those discussions, my daughter vacated the apartment and returned home. For more than six months after moving out, we received no communication whatsoever. Then, after the property changed ownership and the original management team was no longer employed, we suddenly began receiving collection notices. The new management company claimed they could not locate the prior communications or agreements regarding our lease termination. Despite the police report, documented safety concerns, and numerous discussions with the original management team, the account was ultimately sent to collections, damaging our credit. Our experience was extremely disappointing. We chose this property because of its security and management, yet both significantly deteriorated during our tenancy. If you are considering renting here, I strongly encourage you to carefully read the reviews, research current conditions, and make an informed decision before signing a lease.

I strongly advise against living here. After two years as a resident, I watched this community rapidly decline. The security gates were constantly broken β a serious concern, especially as a young woman living alone. I never felt safe in what was supposed to be a gated community. My car was broken into, and following a police report, the previous management agreed to release me from my lease due to the unsafe conditions. However, after the new management took over, they began contacting me claiming I owed rent β despite the agreed-upon release. This has since been sent to collections, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances. I would not recommend this community to anyone, particularly those prioritizing safety and honest management.

Itβs is 96 degrees, my ac has been broken for two day now and pines west gave us 1 portable AC to cool my entire apartment and this portable AC is only connected in 1 room. They say the vendor cannot come out and fix it. Of wow there is only one vendor to fix the AC. Not a very good place to live. If I could not give a star I would not!
