Addison Place Apartments

I want to give a big thank you to Angel, the maintenance technician at Addison Place, for coming in on the weekend to work on my air conditioner. After my unit had been extremely hot and uncomfortable, Angel worked on the AC, figured out the issue, and got it working again so the apartment is livable. He was professional, helpful, and took the time to explain the issue. He also told me he would report it to management so they can make the appropriate decision regarding the repair. I truly appreciate Angel going above and beyond, especially by coming out on the weekend. Thank you, Angel, for your hard work, dedication, and excellent service!

The biggest and most ongoing issue is the pool. There are many families with children living in this community, yet the pool is almost always dirty. Every time I came with my child hoping to swim, it was full of leaves and debris. The water does not seem to circulate properly, even though the office told me it is cleaned every week. As a mother, I cannot allow my child to swim in a dirty pool. Because of this, instead of enjoying the amenities that are included in my rent, we have to drive to the ocean every time we want to swim. This is unacceptable. Please fix this problem. There are many children living in this community, and I am sure many residents are unhappy that the pool is almost never clean. Another major issue was the bathtub. It had been painted with regular paint that started peeling. I had to submit three maintenance requests before it was finally repaired. Although it has now been fixed, it took multiple requests and much longer than it should have. There are also cockroaches in the complex. The entrance lighting often does not work, making it very dark at night, and the landscaping is poorly maintained with grass in terrible condition. I pay more than $2,800 per month for a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, and the condition of this property is simply unacceptable for that price. The management needs to take these issues seriously and improve the maintenance of the community. Overall, I am very disappointed with the maintenance and management of this property. If you’re looking for a place where maintenance actually works, think twice before moving here. The biggest problem at this community is the Maintenance Supervisor, Mr. Angel. Unfortunately, he shows a complete lack of interest in his job, the residents, and even the company he works for. He has a consistently hostile attitude toward many residents, especially Brazilians, and frequently creates obstacles for the new Property Manager, Leticia. Simple maintenance issues that should be resolved quickly often remain open for weeks or even months. On multiple occasions, work orders have been closed without anyone ever entering the apartment to perform the repair. The usual explanation is that “corporate did not approve the repair,” when in reality it often appears to be an excuse to avoid doing the work. The only time he seemed genuinely motivated was when he was instructed to tow residents’ vehicles from the parking lot. At that time, he worked very hard alongside the former manager. Unfortunately, it gives the impression that his priority is not helping residents but making life more difficult for them whenever possible. It is important to point out that the new Property Manager, Leticia, is doing an excellent job. For the first time in a long time, there is someone who genuinely listens to residents, cares about improving the community, and is trying to address long-standing issues. Sadly, many of her efforts appear to be undermined by the Maintenance Supervisor’s attitude, which seems to create obstacles rather than support the improvements she is working so hard to make. It is difficult to understand why the company continues to keep an employee who has generated so many complaints and so much frustration among residents. As long as the maintenance department continues to be managed this way, living here will remain an extremely disappointing experience.
