It’s easy to walk to class each day at the University of Auckland or Auckland University of Technology, as both are around 15 minutes’ from your door. When you want to explore, use the city’s buses to explore the cafés of Parnell or Ponsonby’s shops and galleries. Head down to the harbour to go out for drinks or take the bus over to the North Shore for a different perspective. Take the train to Wellington or plan scenic rail trips to see the North Island while you’re living and studying in Auckland.
While you’re in town, spend time at home unwinding with a cool drink on the balcony getting to know your housemate. You’ll share a two-bedroom apartment with a modern bathroom and kitchen. All the white goods are included and you can choose to rent the apartment fully-furnished or partly-furnished and add your own touches. Eat breakfast in the lounge as you work on that last-minute preparation for class, or take your coffee outside to drink on the balcony while you get some fresh air and compose yourself for the day ahead.
You can pay a little extra to secure yourself a car space if you plan on driving around the city. You won’t need a car to get around though, as there’s plenty to do within a short walk of your home. Pick up groceries at the markets, do some shopping at nearby malls then catch a film at Events Cinema. Meet friends for supper at Genzui Ramen Noodle Bar before going for drinks or heading home.
