Discover high rise buildings, original eateries and scenic seafront walks when you live in San Francisco’s Financial District
You’ll find lots to love in San Francisco’s Financial District, where you’re surrounded by some of the city’s most impressive buildings, both historic and modern. The iconic Transamerica Pyramid is visible from all over the city – visit the ground floor to see a live steam of the incredible view from the 48th floor. You’ll see plenty more impressive architecture as you get to know your new neighborhood, from the Art Deco exterior and lobby of 450 Sutter Building, to the nearby 24-storey French Chateau-style Hunter-Dulin Building.
Your central location means that you’ll never be short of things to do. When you need a shopping fix you’ll find dozens of stores to explore at the Embarcadero Center and Crocker Galleria which hosts a weekly farmers’ market. You’ll also find a great variety of produce at the Ferry Building Marketplace, which is packed with small shops selling everything from speciality mushrooms to local honey and California olive oil.
The Marketplace is also home to several cafés and restaurants, including cheese and dairy bar Cowgirl Sidekick, and Il Cane Rosso, a rotisserie and sandwich shop. For the traditional taste of San Francisco, wait in line for a table at Tadich Grill — it’s the oldest continuously-running restaurant in the city and is famous for it’s locally-sourced seafood and ‘day-of-the-week’ menu.
