Sheffield manages to be both a major industrial city and creative arts hub in the 21st century. You’ll be in the heart of action living here and Sheffield city centre has a superb nightlife: catch a touring band at the O2 Academy or go indie clubbing at the Leadmill, the city’s longest running music and club venue. Home to two popular universities, Sheffield is booming with life and has the amenities to match. Pick up the latest fashion brands at the Meadowhall Shopping Centre, one of the largest indoor shopping centres in Europe, before going for a curry in Ecclesall Road.
Offering food lovers a superb choice of international cuisine, local favourites include The Frog & Parrot which serves everything from pad Thai to fish and chips, while El Paso is renowned for its mouth-watering Mexican dishes and tequila cocktails. Dotted with beautiful historic buildings and quirky little shops, much of the city is walkable - including the university buildings. If you want to go further afield to Manchester or Leeds, then trams, trains and buses are only a short journey away.
