Explore the great outdoors when you live in leafy Magill, with Adelaide’s shops, bars and restaurants just a bus ride away
Make Magill your home as an international student and you’ll be perfectly placed to experience the wonder of Australia’s wide open spaces and native wildlife. Take a short drive out of town to the Adelaide Hills where you’ll find the Morialta Conservation Park. Get unbeatable views of the Morialta Gorge and Adelaide Plains from the rock climbing zone, or follow the hiking trail until you reach the Fourth Creek waterfalls, where water cascades over sheer quartzite cliffs.
At the Cleland Wildlife Park you can meet Australia’s indigenous animals in their natural habitat. Have your photograph taken holding a koala - it’s one of the few places in Australia where you can get this close. Wine lovers should pay a visit to Penfold’s Magill Estate Cellar Door, where you can take a guided tour of the estate, followed by a wine tasting. It’s the most prestigious wine brand in Australia, and there’s an excellent restaurant and café where you can look out over the heritage-listed vineyard as you eat.
Closer to home, you’ll find everything you need in Magill. There’s a great choice of quirky shops, cafés and restaurants on Magill Road. Try the breakfast pizza at My Friend Louis, and check out the amazing range of clothes, books and homeware at Flourish Gift and Home.
