Let's start off with the excellent part. The office staff!!! Frey and Yevette are INCREDIBLE. The application and move in process was so smooth and easy. Frey went out of his way to get me the perfect apartment, and helped me through everything, even when I wanted a different unit Frey said no problem. These two DEFINITELY care about the community and the residents. Super friendly, welcoming and professional! Love my apartment! Great appliances, Spacious and was spotless when I moved in and I love the large enclosed back patio! Complimentary internet is great and works well. Laundry room and mail room are very clean. Several very nice dog relief stations complete with bags and trash cans, cute dog park. Very pretty landscape and a working security gate. Now onto the not so good. One of the pools is usable but the other two are VERY green and there are no chairs, tables or sources of shade, so its kind of depressing looking. The pool gates are work but are in very bad shape. Parking is rough. There is parking but the lots are TIGHT. The beautiful community barbecue grills pictured on the website are broken down and unusable, so thst was very disappointing. There is no longer a basketball court as pictured on the website. There was at one time a playground but it has been torn down and that area looks a bit trashy. I understand advertising free electric service (which is great) but there is a huge banner above the office saying FREE ELECTRICITY, IMO it makes the property look a bit low class, but that is just my opinion. Residents leave cigarette butts and empty beer cans in community areas, especially by the ping-pong table and picnic tables. Have found that residents leave their laundry in the machines for hours, so sometimes it's hard to do laundry. Overall I'm pleased. This place definitely has potential to be a gorgeous community with a few repairs and small touches..and if the residents would clean up after themselvesand not abuse the amenities (like the destroyed grills and beer cans). It's definitely a great deal over all...despite some issues.

WARNING: Health and Safety Violations, Ignored Maintenance, and Deceptive Lease Practices – Avoid Skyvue Apartments at All Costs My experience living at Skyvue Apartments was overwhelmingly negative due to a combination of hazardous living conditions, unresponsive management, and misleading lease procedures. Here's what you need to know: 1. Misleading and Poorly Communicated Lease Termination Policy Skyvue requires written notice to end your lease—but they do not clearly communicate this. The only mention of this requirement is buried inside a document titled “Renewal Offer Letter,” which gives the impression it's only for renewing, not opting out. Most tenants wouldn’t expect that to contain critical move-out information. Instead of reminding tenants in advance, they waited until just two weeks before my lease ended to inform me that I needed to sign documents to avoid being charged for an extra month. By that point, I was trapped in a lease extension I never intended, and a new 200$ month to month charge, all because they concealed the process behind unclear documentation. 2. Severe and Persistent Infestation Move-in (Feb 9, 2024): Within 10 hours, I captured 22 live cockroaches of varying sizes—proof of a well-established infestation. Pest control was blatantly ignored for a full week, and then it was ordered via Amazon using the cheapest, slowest shipping available. No urgency whatsoever. Over the next year, I repeatedly reported new sightings (up to 9 live cockroaches in a 10-minute visit). Management continued to deny an infestation, even when I sent photos. They claimed the unit was “safe to live in” from day one. One maintenance note, when addressing the smell of sewage in the sink, read: “I think it’s a sewage backup, gonna check." A day later, "It isn’t”—and they closed the request without taking further action. This happened twice. 3. Dangerous and Unresolved Maintenance Issues The back door was broken from move-in day—no working lock or latch, a shattered glass pane, and only a wedge-bar to hold it closed. The outside pane of the double-pane glass was destroyed, reducing insulation and security. The door was NEVER repaired. Moisture would often leak up through the floor as shown in the photo, this was for some reason exceptionally slippery and NEVER addressed. There was a 1-inch gap at the bottom of the door, letting in dust and whatever else wanted to crawl in. The bathroom sink frequently smelled of sewage, but no meaningful repairs were ever made. Fixtures and hardware were painted over instead of repaired, including broken cabinet handles and even the door screen. And 1 roach. The bathroom light fixture was rusty and dust-filled, and the “patio” was a 2x2 slab surrounded by trash, rocks, and dozens of golf balls. That I notified them of immediately. I had to clean them. 4. Maintenance Misconduct and False Claims Maintenance requests were regularly marked “complete” without any work being done. I had to reopen multiple tickets for the same unresolved issues with the company who helped subsidize my apartment stepping in because of this and the roaches. In their response to my review, management falsely claimed maintenance was always timely. I have documented emails and photos proving otherwise. They also claimed the company who helped subsidize my apartment would have stepped in if there were issues. That platform did intervene repeatedly—and eventually ended their partnership with Skyvue because of these ongoing problems. 5. Management Intimidation and Lack of Accountability A staff member, Wilmer, called me asking me to take down my review, claiming it was “hurting business” and making them look bad—instead of addressing the actual problems. Staff denied infestation concerns even when faced with photographic proof. They insisted there had never been an issue and shifted blame onto me. Throughout my lease, they minimized problems, avoided accountability, and did the absolute bare minimum whenever forced to act.

I have been living in Skyvue for the last 5 years: under 3 management. So I would be very honest with my review. The review is based on mostly recent time. 1. They do not have any fitness center for last 2 years. BIG NO FOR MANY. BBQ grills do not work (never worked in last 5 years). 2. The gates are opened most of the time. So, homeless people are roaming around. In the forest, it is full of homeless people. They use Skyvue gate as their entrance. In front of the dumpstar, their main entrance. 3. These apartments are too old. Anything can fell down and accidents can happen. Hot water takes time (1-2 mnt) to come. 4. Current management is Sylish Property. They had 3 good staffs in the office: Roel, Jay and Wullimer. Roel and Jay left. Now Wullimer is the property manager. New people work in the office and they do not provide accurate information. 5. Every time you renew the lease, they increase base rent and water+gas bills started to increase too. 6. Recently, the trend is back: Dangerous people started living here again. These people do crime, and police keep coming here. I think they should focus on background checks efficiently. 7. The application process is too slow and somewhat inefficient. They should be upfront about their leasing system. 8. Pools are not cleaned regularly. 9. Washer and Dryer are out of date. Specially, some dryers will ruin your clothes. If you have any questions, ask here. I will try to answer.

Skyvue has come a long way in the last couple of years and the management is top notch. Jay and Roel and nice and very friendly and they have helped me with anything Ive needed like moving me and my family into a new unit promptly. The apartments are very nice and modern and due to the location of this complex being so close to UTSA and fairly close to the top of Chase Hill Blvd. some units have a nice view of the surrounding area and even the city. If you are looking for a place to call home, look no further than Skyvue!

This apartment housing is 5-8 minutes walking to UTSA. 3 minutes to shuttle. I would say it's best for it's breathtaking view. The new management takes maintenance request seriously and issues usually get solved within a day.
