Refugio Place

I moved in here about 3 months ago and waited to write a review so I'd have a more experienced opinion. And keep in mind I'm not the easiest person to please 😂 So, here it goes....the price for this location is a STEAL! The neighborhood is super close to parks, spray grounds, the river walk and the mall! It seems every weekend we run into another festival while we're just out exploring! It's quiet and very clean and well kept! My apartment is SO NICE! My neighbors are super friendly and I swear I NEVER hear them. I HAVENT SEEN A SINGLE BUG! The front office staff is AMAZING! They are so helpful and quick to resolve any issues! I haven't had many reasons to contact them but when I do they're on top of it! And MAINTENANCE!!! Omg! I LOVE MY MAINTENANCE MAN! Again, I haven't had many issues but we came home from fiesta on Friday night at 7:30 and my ac was leaking. Within 30 min Hugo was here and the issue was FIXED! I don't know what Hugo and Daevian (front office) are making but it needs to be doubled! 😂💕 I CANT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY ENOUGH! If you're considering Refugio for your new home APPLY RIGHT NOW! You won't be anything but pleasantly surprised! I've lived all over the country and this is by far the best experience I've ever had at a property. I absolutely LOVE it here.

First let me tell you they made me put $1800 deposit down because my daughter had never rented before. She just turned 18 and mind you when I got the apartment it was full of screws all over the floors from them fixing I suppose . light covers were missing off the ceiling fans. One of the ceiling fans was broken. The drain did not drain. There was no hot water cause the hot water tanks are old.the blinds were all broken. The door was broken. Just countless things that were wrong with it and I wrote all of it down and you know I thought that’s OK. I’ll just fix it with maintenance throughout the year and that’s what I did. I fix the door fix the lights. I fixed everything that was broken by calling maintenance throughout the year so everything was really good when I left it. it was all broken and better than when I had it these people wanted to say that the carpet needed to be replaced. It was brand new carpet. I cleaned it before I left and it was put in brand new when I first got there so there’s no need for that. They literally took the deposit all of it. Do not let these people make you put a huge deposit down. They are not a good place there’s domestic violence and fighting constantly when I was there almost every other night I was hearing assaults outside, not OK to take peoples money and to not have good working apartment . The drains are constantly clogged up underneath the sink it was rotten and nasty. They wouldn’t come and replaced the whole sink. The dishwasher old I’m talking like 1980s old like dinosaur appliances. I don’t recommend coming here. It’s a great area but to be honest with you the leasing people are very greedy. oh, not to mention when I first moved in they told me you’d be ready in three weeks and then three weeks when I called them. It still wasn’t ready. It was another three weeks and then I called again and they said it was gonna be another two weeks. I literally waited and waited and waited for that apartment specifically because of location and when I got it and it was in such a mess in such a wreck, I wasn’t about to not accept the apartment because I was in desperate need and it already been well over a month that I needed to get in there
