Heritage at Lakeside

This apartment complex is breathtaking on the outside. That's the sole reason for the 1 star I was forced to give. I moved into an apartment that was not cleaned at all, let alone the damage left by the previous tenant and their dog. It was also not the unit I was initially shown and agreed to move into. The roofing in this complex is old and has visible holes, causing mold, damage to ceiling alarms, electrical equipment etc. Anytime it rained we had to put towels along all window sills, doors, and any other openings. Gaping hole in garage ceiling that dumped water into our garage during rains. Our neighbor did hard drUg$ on our shared porch, while in his underwear almost daily, which we had to see on our ring doorbell each time. Huge roaches infested the garage no matter what we did to combat them. Our garage door was lopsided, leaving a huge gap for rats and bugs to gain access. Said door was also painted 3 different colors because they didn't want to paint the 1 replacement panel to match the exterior. Note: replacement was done prior to us moving in, we endured the broken door during our stay. Our bathtub had a huge crack which lifted, creating a moldy hole, and the tub wasn't finished. They offered for us to go pay for our own hotel stay so they could have contractors come in and refinish the tub. Clearly, we couldn't make this happen. Urine & feces stained the patio from previous owners dog, we ended up getting it pressure washed because management refused to do anything about it. Walls and flooring were all damaged and dirty on move-in, carpets were old and disgusting. I put in endless maintenance requests during my stay which most got marked as "complete" when they were not even addressed. Meanwhile, I'm being charged for the condition of the apartment and have yet to receive the little bit of deposit they are claiming to refund. Good thing I have time stamped photos to show I did not cause the damage and filth that I'm being charged for. Long story short, this place is uninhabitable. Read the REAL reviews on BBB. I'm not sure why people come on here and lie about this place. Do not move here!

One week of living here. The unit was not cleaned in between us and the previous tenant - not at all. Hair, spider webs, dirt everywhere. No hot water pressure in the kitchen sink. Shower faucet in master bedroom sprays everywhere. Within only 5 days of living here, I saw two cockroaches. Asked the front office, which btw randomly closes anywhere from 1/2 hour-3 hours early with no prior notice, and they said the exterminator won’t be out for another almost two weeks, and we can’t have a specialty request for treatment without corporate approval. See pictures for how this place looked when we moved in. Kitchen is newly renovated and nice. The outside and general community grounds are very well kept. We love the space and style of our unit. But some of the basic maintenance and cleanliness requirements before moving in are clearly not delivered on. And if you want anything addressed, forget about it - it has to go through the elusive “corporate” unless of course it’s the issue you’re having with the payment portal. They fixed that in 24 hours.

I had an exceptional experience living at Heritage at Lakeside! From the moment I moved in, I felt welcomed and part of a friendly and vibrant neighborhood. The leasing office team (Laura & Shiva) were incredible, always ready to help and promptly solving any issues that arose. The repair technician was fantastic, consistently on time and efficient in fixing anything that needed attention. Although I didn’t use them much the pool and gym were both pretty nice and added to the overall positive living experience. Highly recommend!
