Somerset is a great apartment complex. Very pet friendly with big grassy areas for your dogs. The manager Jill takes care of any issue immediately with the maintenance team. Neighbors are all friendly and courteous here. A great place to call home.

The Somerset Apartments are a great place to live for me. The manager, Jill, is always nice. The apartment I live in now is in great condition. There are no leaks, complaints, or noisy neighbors. Maintenance is always easy to get ahold of.

This complex is a nightmare. The front office will never answer the phone or even be there physically if you have an issue. They turn the water off EVERY single day for at least an hour and never fix the problem with the pipes. There are COCKROACHES (although there are less since they started spraying more frequently). And maintenance just straight up didn’t fix my dishwasher or garbage disposal after writing up TWO requests for them to fix it. I’m in the process of trying to move out and I have left 4 messages with no response from them. I still haven’t returned my keys, I guess they just don’t care?? Horrible management and awful communication. The rent was cheap but you deserve more, trust me.

This is gonna be a long one. I lived in apartment 138 (studio) for about two years. It’s been months since I have moved out and I wanted to make this review as unbiased as possible. Positive: I liked how cheap it was because I was going to tech for my masters. I liked the layout with the bookcase between the living and bedroom spaces. I had no noise issues, never heard anything from my neighbors. Felt pretty safe with the school across the street. I loved how cold the AC would get. Appliances did look pretty new. Really liked the size of the closet for a studio. Negatives: the new renovations are pretty bad. The cabinets were just painted, you can tell they are old. The new floor wasn’t even lvt, it’s those thin wood looking plastic boards. (I’m an architecture major so I know the difference) The corners would come up with just regular walking. There’s no outlets in the restroom. Finally, the biggest issue. Plumbing, this is a comment that you probably have read of over. They are constantly putting out little fires instead of spending the money needed to replace the old plumbing. Their excuse is that it’s old plumbing but that’s really not the renters problem. As an owner, it’s their responsibility to fix the issues. The shower temperature is not adjustable, you will either get cold or hot water no matter how you move the handle. I called them so they could take a look at it, they didn’t fix it, broke my handle and didn’t replace. Now on to the bigger issue, my upstairs neighbors bathroom would leak.. a lot. Like an inch of water if it was left unattended. So the water would fall into my bathroom and into my closet that is adjacent to the bathroom. It would ruin my makeup palettes, my toilet paper, I would have to spend money on washing all of my clothes because the water would drench my clothes. First time, they came to fix it pretty much quickly. Replaced the sheet rock and painted. Second time … same thing all over again but this time they came, fixed the leak, added the sheet rock but they never came back to retexture and paint EVER. Then the leak happened a third time, it was 6 am and I was up doing homework so I heard when the water started pouring down the walls, called the emergency number and they told me that wasn’t an emergency. Then a fourth time.. I was away for summer after graduation and I came back half way through the summer to pick up stuff. That whole time they never realized they had a leak. The leak just stayed there and the restroom and closet grew black mold everywhere. I let them know and left back to my home town for the remainder of the summer and when I came back to officially move out, the mold was still there.. they never went back to fix it after a couple of months. So whoever gets apartment 138, I can assure you will have reoccurring mold issues, specially in the shower because mold started growing back after a couple weeks of moving in and they just paint over it.. yes they paint over tile so I would scrub and scrub the tile and the paint would just chip off. Final negative, I did have roach issues. I had to do a really deep clean and leave roach traps and 98% of te issue went away.

You get what you pay for here. Water lines busting, always having to shut the water off, prepare for the hot water to got out for a week at times in the winter, my air conditioning goes out every year, the previous two years it was out for a month at the least with them always saying the condenser will have to be replaced. This year it’s been a week so far and someone has came to look at it three times and nothing has been fixed not even a window unit was left behind this time even after I was told I’d get one on 6/13/24. I go today 6/14/24 around 4:30pm I took off work early so I can talk to someone and of course it’s closed.
