The Village Green Apartments

Had to add something to the review. They charge 35$ a month for locker fees and I don’t use their locker for any packages due to my work schedule I have everything delivered to my job. They charge a 58$ HOA fee. Never heard of an apartment complex to charge a HOA fee. I’m not going to get on here and bash anyone!! But before you sign your lease look for roaches please!! My apartment is nice!! The office staff don’t bother you.. but the bug issues is what I want to acknowledge!! You have rights check into The Texas Property Code § 92.052 If you are having this issue as well.

If I could give them a -0 I would. I lived here from Dec.2023- Dec -2024, I leased a cottage in the 300 block. Lets just say this is place is Horrible starting with management, which changes every 90 days. Apartments are Not cleaned for new tenants. Different races get different prices. You will constantly have to contact Corporate who does nothing. Corporate sent a lady with a big white dog to watch ME because I complained. She told them I had a dog and I don't like animals . Its VERY UNSANITARY and DISGUSTING! She watched me for months. GOD forbit a black women be single and pay rent alone and it not be illegal, all while drive a luxury vehicle. Constantly sending me links to sign up for pet registration. I emailed Corporate and called to have the owners come to this placed and they sent a WW who has never traveled outside the US!( I have just come back from DR) In other- words they sent NO ONE IMPORTANT. Administration fees are an extra $200 per month on top of the rent. Nothing will be fixed ever, as maintenance changes like the management. Most of the management have no clue what they are doing, Corporates just hires anyone. Lots of gang activity in the apartments. Someone was killed on the property on 12/24. It was drug related. I would've known that other black tenants were being treated badly until the shooting happened. We were all outside talking about the management. This is when Dawn and Jocie was in the office. How Jocie is never available to talk to you and how prejudice Dawn is. You walk in the office and DAWN would leave or act like you not there. If you have lived here please put some protection on you SS #. I have emails and photos to support EVERYTHING I WROTE HERE! I PAID 1645. for an apartment that was Not upgraded and had carpet. Everyone around me had upgraded apartments and paid less. Told JOCIE my apartment was NOT 722 sq. ft as I had it measured 3 times and it was 696 sq ft. I asked her to have them to measure it and she lied and said they did after I moved out but i had a camera in there because I didn't trust my neighbor and had left a TV mounted no one came. I moved out 3 weeks before my lease expired. They still charged me full amount after i emailed and ask if i turned the keys in would it be discounts, Joice Never replied. This place should not be opened! Its that bad!!! Positive review are Fake - I would write a review if you gave me a gift card to do so. You have been warned!!!! Oh when you move out they will make up charges to keep your deposit. I have photos and emails of the holes in the wall that maintenance drilled as there was a rat in my wall in the bedroom and i had to deal with the smell for about 90 days, I paid to have it removed because i could sleep in my bedroom. This in FEB. I had moved in 2 months before. They should be refunding me for ALL this BS their hired help caused! They charge me 100 holes they put in the wall. My apartment was still not rented last month. I moved out in DEC. 2024. Email them and make them document EVERYTHING!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!! *****I DO NOT LEAVE REVIEWS BUT THIS IS A MUST**********

Disclaimer: I posted this review before and deleted it because I thought maybe this place had improved. I was wrong. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Seriously, don’t do it. My lease is over next week and I'm so relieved that I get to leave this dump. Village Green was my first ever apartment, so I was naive and ignored red flags before I signed my lease with them. Before I even moved in, I asked the leasing staff REPEATEDLY to let me see a model unit. I was literally begging them and every time I asked them, I got told "You can look at the models online, we don't have any available units to show you." They probably didn't want me to see how much the place sucked. I reluctantly signed the lease and attempted to make the most out of living there. One month after I moved in, a young man was tragically killed in the building right next to me. I saw cop cars outside and everything. The apartment staff did absolutely nothing to assure the tenants about safety. I bought a Ring camera after this murder happened; I have literally felt so unsafe here ever since that happened and am always watching my back. My air conditioning broke down, I'm not joking, at LEAST 7 times in the summer. It keeps on breaking down over and over again. Oh, not to mention, I received an email from the complex SOO many times about how the hot water was shut off! I literally lost count of how many times the hot water quit working and got used to it at some point. I have proof of the many, many emails they sent out about the hot water not working. I also have proof of the several work orders that I needed to place for the MANY issues I had here. This place is such a joke. If you can avoid this place, do it. Not long ago, there was a SWAT police squad in the complex, all carrying guns with them, because there was a standoff happening in one of the buildings; like they literally just let anyone live here. Can’t forget the disgusting wasp nests that are on my patio and show up all the time. Also, I called maintenance once to remove a dead squirrel from my porch and they never did, my neighbor had to get rid of it. Village Green of Bear Creek is a nightmare and overall not a good place to live. I have never written a big ugly review like this before, but this place deserves it. I am so grateful to be moving out.

Update:Be very careful with them. They'll charge you for the carpet. I bought shampoo, cleaned the carpet, and practically left it like new. They charged me for the carpet. They hire someone to supposedly clean the carpet, but all they do is vacuum and that's it. The carpets are old. I lived for about 3 years there at the beginning, it was a blessing until July 2023 that began to decay. The maintenance ones are terrible, 1 month before I moved I put an order of the dishwasher and they never changed it, there was robbery, shooting, people smoking and also the office staff are also garbage, and the complex tells you $1,250 but you have to include between $300 and $400 in total. Thank God I moved out of that garbage dump.

Village Green of Bear Creek is a nice, quiet and a friendly place to live. It all starts with our leasing agent Ms. Veronica!!! From the moment you meet her, you know the experience will be easy, fast, and organized. Her level of professionalism is unmatched!!! I would highly recommend anyone to contact her and move into a beauty and affordable facility TODAY!! 5 Stars!!!!
