I can't say enough good things about this place. I called the office one day very frantic as our old lease was ending and we had not been able to line anything up yet. I spoke with Deyda and not only did she help me problem solve, she comforted and reassured me in the process. When we walked over and toured the condos I was really impressed with how spacious and updated they are compared to our old home. Upon seeing it we decided to apply right away. Deyda personally walked us through the application which took a lot off of my plate as a busy and stressed out mom. She even went as far as to give my 3 year old a pen and paper so that he could color while we did the application together. We have now lived here for one week and everyone in the community is very courteous. The maintenance man introduced himself and told us to wave him down if we ever see him around and need anything. Finally, I was having trouble finding somewhere that would accept my dogs, but Northwind welcomes pets and kids alike with their multiple dog parks, dog cleanup stations, and playground. I am so thankful for Deyda and Savanna for all of their help and feel so much relief and relaxation in my new home!

Ms. Deyda was an exceptional tour guide. She thoroughly explained everything about the apartment complex, including the current and upcoming amenities, and did so with such warmth and professionalism. She was incredibly kind, charismatic, and welcoming from the moment we met. She took the time to ask what I was looking for and genuinely cared about helping me make the right decision. Her approach made the entire experience feel comfortable and personal—she truly made it feel like home.

The apartment is nice and we love that is a gated community. It makes us feel safe. The kitchen in the unit my daughter has is a little dated. However, the space is good as a one bedroom. Move in day was seamless. The manager was very kind and helpful. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from college town.

The clarity of their process explanations was impressive, and the staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism. If you’re looking for an apartment, I highly encourage you to contact Deyda Humphres; she ensures that the entire experience is not only smooth but also enjoyable. You won't regret it!

I lived at Northwind Apartments from August 2024 to July 2025, and it was the worst living experience of my life. The biggest issue was cockroaches. Not a single day went by without seeing them. At dusk, they would cluster all over the windows, and they even came out of the bathroom drains. Once, while eating, a cockroach fell from the ceiling fan directly into my food. While showering, they would fall from the shower curtain onto my head, and they also came out of my closet, next to my bed, and even through the cracks in the doors. They would follow me inside when I entered the apartment, and one night, I woke up scratching my stomach because a cockroach had crawled inside my clothes. In the hallways, I constantly saw them flying and crawling, and they even got into my car. Whenever I went out at night to get something from my car, several cockroaches would be crawling on it or inside it. Even while walking outside, I could easily see cockroaches crawling on the grass and ground around the apartment. I spent a lot of money on cockroach sprays, sealed the windows and door gaps, but nothing worked. Pest control fees were included in the rent, but in reality, there were more days when no one came than when they actually showed up. Management told me to clear out my furniture for whole-apartment spraying and gave me an appointment, but no one ever came and there was no follow-up. Even after fogging, cockroaches never went away. Despite this, I was still charged pest control fees every month. The manager always blamed it on “Georgia weather,” but lifelong Valdosta residents told me this was absolutely not normal and clearly the fault of the apartment itself. On top of this, during the summer, neighbors would leave their trash outside their doors for days, which created terrible odors and attracted even more pests. This made the already unlivable conditions even worse. The building itself is over 20 years old and falling apart. The sink and dishwasher overflowed and flooded my floor, but instead of replacing them, they were just patched up to be used again. Mold grew under the sink and bathroom shelves, but the manager dismissed it as just “water stains.” The carpets were filthy, and no matter how much I cleaned, the previous tenants’ hair kept coming out, which worsened my allergies. The water pressure was so weak that the toilet frequently clogged. The bathroom and shower were so dirty that even after I cleaned them myself, they were unusable, and I eventually had to replace the shower head out of my own pocket. The maintenance workers were another problem. When they did show up, they often did sloppy work and acted rude. Yet after doing the bare minimum, they would ask for tips or demand good reviews. It was frustrating and unprofessional. Rent also included unexpected management fees, but none of that went into actual maintenance. The complex advertises itself as a “luxury apartment,” but it is absolutely not. There is no value for the rent you pay here—it’s just a complete waste of money and time. Despite all these issues, the rent was not cheap at all. Compared to other apartments in Valdosta, it was not reasonable in the slightest. Endless cockroaches, mold, broken appliances, filthy carpets, plumbing issues, irresponsible management, rude maintenance staff, and neighbors leaving trash for days—it is not an environment fit for people to live in. The apartment manager may want to deny responsibility, but honestly, who would ever want to live in a place like this? Renting out apartments in this condition is wrong in itself. J24 will forever remain a nightmare in my memory. The only perfect tenants for this apartment would be an entomologist or a pest control scientist.
