I’ve been living here since August 2025 and intentionally waited to write a review so I could give a fair assessment. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating. The main elevator was broken for the first six months of our lease and was only recently repaired. The gates frequently break and can take days to be fixed, which feels like something that should have a clear protocol in place. Every morning there is a loud beeping sound from the leasing office due to an alarm being triggered, and this has been happening consistently without being properly addressed. The front office has also been extremely unresponsive. Under previous management, phone calls were answered promptly. Since Greystar took over, I honestly can’t recall a time I called and got someone on the phone right away. For the price point, the level of upkeep and responsiveness does not match what residents are paying. That said, I do want to give a shoutout to Jesus, the maintenance manager. Anything that is within his control gets handled and resolved. He is responsive, helpful, and clearly cares about his job and the residents. It’s noticeable. The frustration comes from the larger or ongoing issues that seem to fall outside of his control and take far too long to be addressed. On a positive note, the location is great, the apartments themselves are beautiful, and the neighbors are kind and seem to genuinely care about the community. I truly hope management improves communication and overall responsiveness, because the property has so much potential.

I recently leased at this property and have been so pleased and impressed with the process. Scott is amazing and super attentive. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience! He is truly the best and I highly recommend him when leasing at Montrose.

I’ve lived here for 2 years and I really really regret it. This place is expensive and the quality is so poor, especially the quality of the work of the staff (the only competent employees are the maintenance guys, who are great). The common spaces of the building are not maintained, smell, and often have stains or the remnants of people breaking in to sleep there. The elevators and gates are CONSTANTLY broken (90% of the time I’ve been here multiple at a time are broken; it took the staff 10 months to get an elevator fixed for example). The amenities are also constantly broken and it takes the staff months to fix incredibly simple things (like a coffee machine or a printer for example). The secure back doors to the building are also often broken open so they cannot close. My biggest disappointment from living here though is how hard it is to get the staff to do anything or to communicate. If your car window is smashed in the parking lot and broken into, or if your package is stolen from the package lockers, they’ll tell you they cannot provide camera footage or offer any help at all (or as the manager Scott says: that wasn’t specifically in your lease agreement so you’re on your own). In general they are rude and have an attitude of gracing you with their help…when you are paying over 2k a month to live here. They will send you eviction notices because they messed up recording your rent payments, but not actually just call you to check their mistake. You will call the office multiple times and leave messages, send emails, with no response. Please do not be fooled by their nice attitude during a tour; please do not be fooled by what they say about safety in the parking lot, how clean the common spaces will be, how the elevators and gates are only ever down temporarily. There’s so many good apartments in this area - don’t waste your money here.

Our experience with Scott, leasing professional, has been excellent and memorable to put it briefly. He has assisted in our search for our second apartment in Houston. Scott's personality is second-to-none, and you can tell he loves his job and appreciates the customer. His knowledge of the product and familiarity with the industry is highly valuable. It is clear he’s been in the business for more than 30 years. During our tour, he knew exactly what units to show us and did so with a light hearted, comedic, and upbeat attitude the entire time. The desire to make us feel welcome and at home was completely natural. I can’t thank him enough!

I've lived here for 3 years and want to highlight a few reasons I've chosen to stay. 1) The parking garage is one of the best I've experienced in an apartment. it's very well lit which helps at night, there are no blindspots when turning corners, and there's always parking available. The back gate on Marconi street makes a huge difference when leaving and enables getting on West Gray, West Dallas, or Waugh super easy. Plenty of visitor parking. 2) The loading dock made my move-in the easiest experience I've had living in apartments. Big enough for a sizeable truck that is able to back in with direct access to the freight elevator is a subtle but meaningful amenity. 3) Hallways are big, bright, clean, and never smell. There's never trash hanging out in the hallways and it feels more like a hotel. They're very quiet for an apartment. 4) Speaking about quiet, the tenant base is a mature crowd and I've never had issues with excess noise, rowdy neighbors, or people who treat the community like a college apartment. It feels like everyone does their part to keep the community clean. 5) The maintenance team is great and has always been very responsive to any request I've had. Goes a long way to come home from work and have everything back up and running. Currently, the only downside is the construction on Montrose Blvd. Once construction is finished, getting to Allen Parkway or Buffalo Bayou Park will be seamless, both by car and by walking.
