Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

The teachers and campus was amazing! I learned so much and my faith grew. I honestly wish I could give 5 stars based on that alone! However, the school doesn't have a lot of financial means to help people and I wish I would've been aware of that or told that when I was touring the school. I found out after the semester started that I had to be apart of a SBC church to receive aid but I could have the semester to find a church if I moved into the dorms and I could receive the SBC rate. So I moved into the dorms. There's options to choose if you want a roommate or not but the difference financially in having a roommate wasn't significant. I ended up with a $10,000 bill from one semester from living in the dorms and tuition. It was about $5,000 each. I asked for options and the financial aid office wasn't much help and I learned through a professor that they work exclusively with sallie mae for loans. I tried to use sallie mae but they required a co-signer I didn't have. I even asked would I still be able to attend if I paid off the tuition but they said everything had to be paid off in full. I just wish there were more options especially if they know they don't take traditional financial aid. But outside of the financial aspect , this was by far the best school i attended and I was engaged with my courses and actually saw growth.
