I have been a resident here at Prairie Crossing for seven months and wanted to get some time in as a resident so my review can be fair based on extended experience. The move in phase was normal with no real issues that one would go through. Upon move in there were some minor maintenance issues but they were addressed and resolved timely. The management team made everything VERY accommodating during the sign up process and was very clear on all documentation involved in the process . My first staff member interaction was with Amaya in the front office. She is VERY professional and has a great sense of humor. Her and I would share time in the beginning business process on my residency here sitting at her desk just interacting and she can be a hoot and I enjoyed making her laugh all the while being focused on my needs. The next on my list is the Maintenance area. DeShaune is the Maintenance expert here and Murn Properties is blessed to have him on their team. He made all the difference in the world in my early days here on maintenance request and all my needs were addressed timely and thoroughly. He is VERY professional and courteous and I feel comfortable when he has fulfilled a maintenance request and I was not home at the time. That is very important regarding trust. He is for sure the Man to coin a phrase. And the best for last on my extended interactions is the property manager Kendra. She has made my experience here truly exceptional. She is VERY professional and has top notch business savvy. Her and I established a positive and solid business relationship on day one. These three individuals named are the ones I dealt with the most on staff since living here. There are others here on staff that I see favorable as well. I do have to give a shout out to Ace on the maintenance staff. I just met him recently for a routine maintenance issue and he made an immediate positive impression on me during the process and from the other positive reviews I have read here about him I see them as true. The Murn staff has been here for a year now and from what I have been told and seen they inherited a challenge from the prior property management company. I've seen several improvements since being here. I like the lockers here for parcel packages that only cost a small fee annually that is less than what most people would earn in an hour worth of work which is fair considering any routine upkeep or software updates as it is electronic regarding access code sent to your phone to get your package out of the secure locker. There is a secure parking garage access gate that provides added security for vehicles. There is also an onsite security officer so that is a added plus. The staff here truly cares and has always been there for me. I am happy to call Prairie Crossing my home.

My experience at Prairie Crossing has largely depended on the company managing the property. When the complex was managed by Portico from 2020-2024, the environment felt community-oriented and resident-focused. There were consistent events like book clubs, cooking classes, and cookouts, along with a monthly calendar and regular communication. Work orders were handled promptly, information was clearly posted, and management was visible and engaged. It wasn’t perfect, but the effort to build and maintain community was noticeable. Since Murn Properties took over in 2024, the overall experience has changed significantly. Community events largely stopped or were communicated last minute. An event called "End-of-Year Fall Fest" was sent, but never hosted. We had a Brunch that was notified to us up to an hour before it was scheduled. Resident-led activities were discontinued. Communication became inconsistent, and management presence felt minimal. Some work orders were marked complete without being fully addressed. For example, a smoke alarm replacement that was never completed and blinds that were left outside my door rather than installed. Pest control also declined in consistency compared to prior management. At one point, pest activity escalated to the extent that insects were present inside electrical outlets, which was concerning and not something I experienced under previous management. Bulletin boards have gone unused, older materials from past management remain posted, and some pedestrian gates around the property have not functioned reliably. Getting packages has been a hassle and at times they are left in the mail room for anyone to get. This effects those who try to get their internet set up as Murn Properties will not hold your packages or place your new modem inside your unit. Additionally, the parking garage fee increased substantially, which significantly changes the cost of living at the property. There have been some improvements under Murn Properties, including resolving ongoing fire alarm issues and updating the parking garage gate, which appears to function more reliably. For prospective residents, especially those relocating from out of state, I recommend touring the specific unit you are considering and asking detailed questions about policies, fees, and maintenance procedures. I would also encourage residents to request written clarification of policies and keep documentation of communications. Clear documentation is important when policies or procedures impact tenancy. Based on my experience, I would not personally choose to move here again under Murn Properties management.

Where do I even start. From the beginning, this was a mess. After signing, they sent me the “welcome letter” 5–7 times because they kept getting the numbers wrong with rent, parking, and even the concession. There was constant babysitting before I could sign anything. The lease wasn’t finalized until a week before move-in, even though the process started a month and a half earlier. Communication was terrible, and Brayden and Amya repeatedly failed to get the lease details correct. Move-in was another disaster. Our move-in date was changed just days before, after we had already set up electricity, internet, and movers. The apartment wasn’t ready, having dirty floors, ants and baby spiders in the kitchen, missing blinds, a swinging closet door, swapped den doors, and more. We immediately had to submit an emergency work order for a broken toilet. The only positive was Ace from maintenance, who went above and beyond fixing multiple issues that should have been handled before move-in. The rest of the staff was disorganized and unhelpful. We were told parts would be ordered, but follow-through was doubtful. At one point, we were even showing late fees because they failed to process our payment. For how old this property is, they nickel-and-dime residents while delivering poor management and upkeep. The unit was not worth the price, especially with issues like ants in the kitchen. We broke our lease within the first week and that was the only process they handled quickly, though they acted like they were doing us a favor. If you move here, do it for the surrounding area, not for the apartment or management.

Would avoid this complex if possible. We lived there for 6 months before having to move due to constant water damage and mold problems. Management changed days before we had moved in, so we tried to be understanding, but it became evident even the new company wasn’t caring. To begin, we were sold a unit that advertised having outdoor storage, which ended up being an HVAC closet that wasn’t useful. We were told it had smart locks and smart thermostat, but walked in to an old AC system and the smart locks had been removed. Weeks after moving in, the mailboxes were tampered with. No info on where to get your mail was sent, we had to go directly ask the leasing office (still sent us to the wrong USPS office). Weeks went by with no updates from management. We had to ask the postmaster directly. Multiple times we let the office know about sever water damage in our bathroom & the wall in front of the AC. Only thing done was sloppy paint over the damage, never actually fixed the water damage. They came by with mold “repair” paint after we complained again, but still never fixed the root issue causing the mold (sloppy paint job at that). We found even more mold in the bedroom closet after we moved. The trash room was always disgusting and full. Maintenance walked into my unit without knocking once. The trash cans sitting in front of the garage entrance are such an eyesore (picture of early in the week. By the end of week, it would be 4 other bins full). Hallways and floors were always dirty. For a place to claim to be Luxury Living, this was the worst complex I’ve ever been to and would steer clear.

I've been living in these apartments for about half a year. I'm very impressed, the leasing staff is wonderful and very attentive. When I have an issue, maintenance always has it done within the week or has a solution ready if it's something that will require time. My personally my favorite aspect is the community and relationships the staff are willing to have with their residents. Amaya, the leasing agent who helped me obtain my apartment is friendly, kind, hilarious, and very open. Brayden, another leasing agent is very reserved and professional, although that doesn't stop anyone from striking up a very deep and interesting conversation. Elena, the last leasing agent is very kind and organized, she strives to make everyone's experience welcoming and positive, it invokes a warm welcoming feeling that few people can manage. Deshaune, our maintenance supervisor is very swift and accurate when attending to issues that occur, with a kind and relaxed personality he is very easy to get along with, he is not afraid to get his hands dirty to fix the issues either. Finally, Kendra, the property manager is very professional and holds all of her staff to only the best of standards, but she is also one of the sweetest people in the office, she never fails to put a smile on my face. Over all my experiences with the staff are amazing, I feel like a part of the community.
