I have been leasing from Francis Properties since 2020, and unfortunately, my experience has been increasingly disappointing. Each year, rental rates have continued to rise, with the justification consistently being higher taxes — yet, as tenants, we have not seen any improvements or benefits that reflect these increases. Maintenance has been an ongoing issue. Requests often take an excessive amount of time to be addressed, and communication is lacking. A specific example involved a broken skylight at my business. I promptly reported the issue, only to be told I would be held responsible for the damage — before anyone from their team had even assessed the situation. Once a maintenance technician did visit, he noted a dead bird and feathers around the skylight, suggesting it was not caused by tenant negligence. Despite this, I was still charged. To make matters worse, while the repair work was being done — without any prior notice to me — my vehicle inside the unit was damaged by the roofing crew. I was not informed that repairs were scheduled, nor was there any discussion about the associated costs beforehand. This lack of transparency and disregard for tenant property is extremely concerning. As someone who has consistently paid rent on time (often in advance), I expected a higher level of professionalism and mutual respect. Unfortunately, the treatment I’ve received has made me feel unwelcome. If not for the terms of my lease, I would have moved my business already. I would strongly advise potential tenants to do their due diligence. Speak with current tenants and walk the property — many of us share similar concerns. I hope upper management takes this feedback seriously and makes tenant satisfaction a greater priority, before more businesses choose to leave.
