Don’t move here if you can go elsewhere. Extremely unsafe complex. Had MANY instances while we were there. I lived with my boyfriend. I opened my front door and saw a homeless man touching my vehicle and other vehicles and then he proceeded to jump into the dumpster and never came out. I had to call the non emergency line to get him out. Also had a crazy neighbor leave a threatening note about stealing their iPad and the staff refused to tell me which neighbor put that note on our door. Also spotted two people walking around the dumpster area with knives so we stayed inside. Also had a homeless lady sleeping on my FRONT DOOR STEP which scared the heck out of me and my boyfriend. Next door neighbor also kept throwing their trash and cigarette buds into our back patio which was annoying. Old lady kept walking to our unit specially to let her dog pee and poop in our front lawn. Also had trash dumped at our front door MANY times. Not sure what was up over there my boyfriend and I were quiet and unproblematic. We stayed inside unless we had to work and just took care of our cats. Luckily we moved out and live IN A MUCH MUCH BETTER complex and area. Screw Mack park I felt like stuff would go down at any second.

I lived here for 3 years. Do not move here. If you are parents looking for a place to house your college student, do NOT choose this complex. It is unsafe and not well maintained. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because Ray (maintenance) was the friendliest and most competent staff member. He always went above and beyond. We genuinely miss daily interactions with him now that we own a home. The numerous bad things: 1) I kept a spotless apartment and still had roaches because some of the neighbors are filthy. Pest control is charged monthly, yet we only had one technician enter our apartment in 3 years. 2) Apartments are poorly maintained and never clean when you move in. Mold, peeling finish on tubs cause they just keep repainting them, carpet beyond its lifespan, rotting wood on buildings, water damaged floors and particle board cabinets/counters falling apart (and I was in an “upgraded” unit) I lived in 2 separate units and both were DISGUSTING when I moved in. They even admitted for the first unit that they didn’t have time to get it cleaned and simply apologized and didn’t fix it! 3) Was approached multiple times by homeless people begging for money in the parking lot and while leaving my apartment. One time a man even tried to come INTO my apartment. 4) Office staff (Other than Kennedy, she was kind) are completely incompetent and rude. Especially Kashmir. 5) Constant police presence. This is NOT a safe complex. I didn’t even walk my dogs at night because I was approached and threatened by men so often. 6) Water was shut off on at least 20 different occasions within our time living here. Often for SEVERAL hours or overnight and without notice. 7) the open field behind the complex seems great! But theres actually a homeless camp in the trees. 8) if you get a 2 story apartment, be prepared to be hot because the air conditioners suck. 9) Manager leased out our garage by mistake and told us to have everything out by the weekend. That’s not lawful and once I made it known, she relented. However, she would’ve done it anyway if I didn’t push back. There are so many things I could say in addition to this. But I would move to another state before I would live here again. Once again — thank you Ray for being the shining light in this dark place.

If I could give 0 stars I would based on all of the issues that we had over the 5 years we lived here and the horrible issues we had when we were moving out. The maintenance man Ray is fantastic though!!! The only staff member to still be around after multiple complete office staff turn overs. Throight our 5 years the water was shut off multiple times without warning, the cops were swarming the place and making people stay in their homes on several different occasions. 1 time someone was even shot. This is just a few small things that happened while we lived there but the month before we were moving out our heater went out entirely. On a day that it felt like it was negative outside and it was staying that way for a couple of days as well. They never fixed our heater. The maintenance guy who came, not the usual maintenance guy who is fantastic, first tried to say that our heater wasn't working due to the temperature we had it set at. It was set to 70 degrees and it the thermostat said it was 50 degrees in our apartment (again while it was in the NEGETIVES) outside. The maintenance man then cranked our heater up to 80 degrees and told us not to touch it. He left a a bit and then came back and felf for himself that the system was just blowing the 50 degree ait around which was causing the temperature to drop even further. He the decided to check the actual Hvac system and it was busted. He was not able to fix it since the washer and dryer, that we rented from the company we were told to by the apartments at move in, was keeping him from being able to pull he entire system down with a 2nd person to either fix it or replace it. We were informed that he could not move it and we would have to contact the company that owns the washer and dryer and have them come unhook, move, move back, and re-hook up the washer and dryer connection. At our expense of course. When calling the company that owns the washer and dryer we were given the following Monday as to when they could come do this. As this would be past the freezing temperature days we asked the apartment if they could work with us and see if we could prorate our rent for the last month so they could go ahead and fix the heater and anything else needed. We were told that we could pay rent early and leave whenever instead. We talked to the regional manager and we were met with a condescending email of we don't have to work with you in any capacity. After all of this frustration we were also hit with a $400+ electric bill since the maintained guy left our heater on to 80 degrees and it was just blowing room temperature air the entire time and therefore would never be able to being the room up to temperature. When bringing this up to the apartment complex to try and recoup some of that money we were told that we can't proce that it was directly cause by their actions. Our electric bill beforehand has been half that amount. This doesn't even begin to get into how bady built and maintained the apartments are. I don't blame maintained for this as it's impossible to keep up with a crumbling structure when you don't have the man power or tools to do so. While I could go on I will end this review by saying if you can avoid living here do so like the plague as anyone I have seen living there is miserable and you will be too.

My boyfriend and I have lived at Mack Park since 2021 in the unrenovated Cardinal . It has been a great first apartment on our own with plenty of space. The prices are hard to beat and the maintenance workers work tirelessly to ensure that your apartment is comfortable and do the best they can. There have been quite a few maintenance problems over the years, especially in the summer. However, Ray and Carlos are quick to fix our issues and given the age of the building, the problems we have just come with age. I can't say a bad thing about management or maintenance. They work hard to keep the community clean, safe, and affordable. The front office is quick to answer my emails about concerns and have events and rent raffles to encourage community. Our neighbors have always been friendly, we just hear a dog or two. If you are looking for a new apartment, are in college, or are moving out on your own: this is a great place to start.

I've lived at Mack Park for 3 years now and I've loved living here. Stormy, Amanda, Don, and the new property manager have gone out of their way to make sure my husband, cats and I have been taken care of. I have transferred units a couple of times: once due to a fire and they switched me to a new unit without hassle. I transferred again after a year from a 2 bed to a townhome and I've loved living here. There's so much space! It's unfortunate to see some negative reviews because my experience has been nothing but positive. I would recommend to everyone that they lease with Mack Park :-) I have gone ahead and attached photos of my first home here at Mack Park.
