Slate at Cole

A friend has lived here a long time. It's a great community of all ages. Tyler welcomes everyone and has organized lots of activities so the neighbors get to know each other. Within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops.

I’ve been living in this apartment community for over 6 years and used to truly love it here — it felt like home. Sadly, everything changed when the new management took over. They’re unhelpful, unprofessional, and frankly rude. I’ve reached out with an issue, they’ve shown zero interest in resolving it. One of the most frustrating things is that the elevator is out of service more often than not. It’s incredibly inconvenient, especially for residents on higher floors. After years of enjoying this place, I’m now just waiting for my lease to end so I can leave. Thankfully, there are so many newer and better-managed buildings in the neighborhood — and I’ll be moving to one of them. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone under the current management

Lived at Slate with my Fiancé' and our dog. It was our favorite apartment that we lived in and it is in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of the city. You are right next to the Katy Trail (less than 2 minute walk) and downtown Knox (less than 2 minute walk). The staff is friendly, you can tell the people in the community enjoy living there (some have been in the complex for 20+ years), and made a new city feel like home. Would 1000% recommend to anyone moving to the area or looking for a new apartment.

I love living at the Slate! If you’re looking for an apartment talk to Virgina—she is the absolute best!! She has been so helpful through the whole process! She helped me find my apartment in two days, and now that I live here she is such a kind person to see each day! She has made my transition living at the slate just so easy!

As previous reviews mentioned this apartment complex has deteriorated since Stephanie left. Parking Garage floods every-time it rains. Clearly there’s a faulty draining system in the garage. Elevator was out for almost two weeks. Packages are just thrown by lockers which can be easily stolen. Leasing Office closes every first Saturday of the month so if your package is in the mailing room you won’t get it till Monday. Management is terrible and they don’t care. As someone who works night shift I try my best to sleep during the day. Complex was getting an apartment above me ready and making so much noises that my unit was vibrating and I could hear everything coming from above. Spoke to Virginia from the leasing office about it and her response was “what are you hearing” and ultimately said there’s “nothing we can do about it, they’ll be done at night”. After I just told her I work nights so I’m trying to sleep when I was speaking to her. The only real pro is the location of this apartment complex which is what you’re paying for.
