This historic downtown property offers a unique loft living experience with high ceilings and architectural charm, consistently praised for its fantastic location, sense of community, and generally attentive staff. While the building's age can lead to occasional maintenance needs, the team is often quick to respond; however, some residents have noted a decline in cleanliness and management responsiveness following recent transitions, which has occasionally impacted day-to-day living and basic services.

**UPDATE June 2026** Since UNT staff has taken over building management from RPM I can no longer in good conscience recommend anyone consider moving here. Read others’ reviews if you need details, but nothing they’ve said is false. My partner and I will be breaking our lease after re-signing in March of this year due to complete and utter incompetence on behalf of property management. I truly hope this place gets back to the beautiful community it once was, but, for now, stay FAR away! I can’t even begin to describe how much I love living here! The entire staff is so kind and caring, the location is fantastic, and their prices are some of the best around. I moved back to 1900 Elm last month after spending a couple years in Plano. This truly is an amazing community that should be at the top of your list if you’re considering a move downtown.

Moved into the property about two weeks ago and if I could I would rate this place 1000/10 for the customer service alone. Jodie has been here for my move from start to finish. Even much so she assisted me with my key issue after hours. I’m in love with my apartment and this property I can see myself being here a long time. Thank you Jodie it’s a pleasure to live here.

I have lived at 1900 Elm since July 2024, and for roughly the first year and a half, my experience was genuinely great. Management and maintenance staff were friendly, responsive, and timely. The building felt well-maintained, and most neighbors were respectful. Unfortunately, things changed significantly after management transitioned, and the property has noticeably declined ever since. The cleanliness of the building has deteriorated considerably. Common areas frequently smell musty, and hallways, elevators, stairwells, and areas around the lobby often smell like dog urine. Just last week, I stepped into an elevator that had dog urine covering a significant portion of the floor. Dog waste is also regularly left around the property, creating an environment that feels neglected and poorly maintained. The biggest issue has been the lack of management responsiveness and basic resident services. The online resident portal has been unavailable for months, making it difficult to pay rent, access lease documents, or submit maintenance requests. During the transition, I submitted a maintenance request for something as simple as a light bulb replacement, and it still took over a week to resolve. The final straw came during my move-out process. As customary, I stopped by the management office the week before my move to reserve an elevator. The Property Director acknowledged my request and told me everything would be fine. When moving day arrived, the office—which is supposed to open at 8:00 a.m.—did not open until approximately noon. As a result, I had to complete my move without a reserved elevator, making the process far more difficult and increasing my moving costs. When I raised the issue with management, the response I received was simply, "OK." I also requested a copy of my lease over a month ago because the resident portal remains unavailable. Management took down my email address and told me they would send it, but I never received a response. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this property used to be a genuinely enjoyable place to live. The decline in communication, cleanliness, and overall management has been dramatic. I am extremely grateful that I chose not to renew my lease and will not have to continue dealing with these ongoing issues. I hope ownership takes meaningful steps to improve conditions for the residents who remain.

UPDATE 5/27/2026 Since the new management company took over, living at this property has become an absolute nightmare. There is currently no reliable way for residents to pay rent, the office is consistently closed during posted business hours, and there is virtually no maintenance staff available on-site. As a result, residents are being forced to deal with ongoing unsafe and unacceptable living conditions without support or accountability. I personally suffered a fall on the property due to the lack of proper maintenance and upkeep, which only further highlights the level of negligence taking place here. It is extremely disappointing because I was genuinely excited to move back in March, but now, only a few months later, I no longer feel comfortable or confident living here at all. The level of disorganization, lack of communication, and complete absence of management presence is unacceptable for a property that continues to expect residents to fulfill their obligations while management fails to fulfill theirs. ********************* Updated review I left and moved back after 2 years. Jodie and Monica are just amazing, I didn't realize how much I missed living here after my last apartment. They are super friendly, attentive and truly care for the residents. I just love it here.

Stay far far away from here if you expect a competent management staff UNT took over managing the building about a month ago now. (May 22nd is the date im writing this) Since UNT took over: - There still isn't a working resident payment portal. If you cant make it the office during office hours because of work you are out of luck. If you drop off a check to pay rent there is no confirmation receipt or anything in writing to say you actually paid. They cant even provide you a rent statement for how much you owe. - The only communication sent to residents in the 30 ish days since the transition has been a flyer put on residents doors May 8th. No emails, calls, nothing in official writing. Flyer said a management packet would be handed out the following week and this never happened. There has since been zero communication since the flyer so residents are still in the dark of what is actually happening. - There still isnt a working portal to submit maintenance requests and the email address provided from the flyer wont confirm receipt of a maintenance request or give you any status updates - The email address provided in the flyer is not actively monitored and they WILL not respond to any questions about processes or rent payments in writing. If they do respond (a very rare event) they just tell you to come to the office during office hours to discuss. Not all residents are able to make office hours because of work. They do not care. Very unprofessional. At this point, this all just seems malicious. I have never seen such a lack of care or respect for residents time in such a short period since a transition. You would think they would want to put their best foot forward and make a good first impression. I know a resident who has been out of town for work the past 3 weeks who had zero idea there was management transition and since there has been no communication sent out besides the flyer they had no idea why the payment portal was down and the former contact information was no longer in service. Now they dont know how they are going to pay rent since they still arent back in town and cant physically drop off a check. They have tried to contact management through the email address I gave them from the flyer and they will not respond. Go ahead and click on the 1900 Elm Streets official website and try to click the "Residents" tab at the top right of the page. Still down. Hilarious Absolute insanity. Stay far far away from here, it will save you alot of stress.
