I have lived here at The Wick for the past two years and it has been a wonderful experience. The office staff is helpful in every situation, they have gone out of their way to help me when I was having issues with my internet. Maintenance is on top of making sure all my request are taken care of. I plan to stay for another year until I am done with school.

Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE. I lived here for years (couldn’t afford to move again) and the apartments are heavily outdated and infested with cockroaches. They would turn off the water multiple times a month for “repairs” with no care about how it affects the residents and would never take off money from the rent for the inconvenience because “it’s a old building what did you expect”. The washer and dryers were always out of commission. The rent spikes drastically every year and they add ridiculous cleaning charges at the end of your lease even though the lease states they will re-paint the walls and clean the carpets (they charged me for leaving a bag of ice in the freezer). They went through so many management changes and each one never stood by what the previous manager would say. I have truly never lived at such a terrible apartment complex and don’t want anyone else to go through what I did.

Run from this home of cockroaches if you don’t like cockroaches. And unbelievable that the leasing officers keeping saying American cockroaches as giant water bugs even after I shared photo, they used to be caring and helpful but now manipulating. My most struggling part during my PhD journey is living here. Don’t waste your time and money. But if you only see the comments after moving in, remember to take photos of the bugs or even archive the dead bugs before reporting, you will need them when being argued.

Lived here for two years. Started fine but went downhill fast. Had numerous AC problems, roaches during the second year that weren’t addressed in a timely manner, neighbors smoking indoors with it leaching into my apartment through the ducts. About half the washers and dryers were broken and “scheduled for maintenance” for 4-6 months at a time. Staff is kind, but not always prompt. Maintenance does what they can and are quick and friendly.

I just moved out on Wednesday, and all I can say is: trust the comments. I didn’t do that, and I ended up putting my kids in a horrible home for a year. On the first day in the apartment, roaches were EVERYWHERE. We didn’t even stay the first night because we had to spray for bugs. I reported everything on the inventory sheet, but nothing was ever addressed—so make sure to take lots of pictures like I did. The vents were just painted over what looked like black mold, and there was a bad spot behind the refrigerator that looked like water damage. They charge for pest control every month, but I still had to hire my own service to keep my family safe. Also, the fees are added on top of the rent, so the amount you’re initially told is less than what you actually pay. This was the worst apartment I’ve ever lived in. The buildings are old and really need remodeling. There’s always dog poop on the concrete outside, and many pet owners don’t pick it up. The laundry machines also don’t work very well. On a positive note, the employees were mostly very nice—Billy was kind from day one.
