Mr. Arturo did an excellent job with the maintenance work in my apt. He arrived on time, was very professional, and explained everything clearly. The repair was done quickly and correctly, and the area was left clean afterward. I really appreciate the quality of his work and friendly attitude. Highly recommended! 🙂

I had a one-year lease here and overall it was a disappointing experience. They charged a $55/month tech fee, but the Wi-Fi never worked, and even Optimum couldn’t resolve it. Lot of issues with water. The utility charges seemed unusually high around $200/month not including the tech fee above, and the apartment itself was older with quick fixes like paint over tape on the walls. After moving out, I received a list of additional fees. I emailed them asking for receipts or photos but never got a response. Even the contact email on the letter for collections didn’t work. Communication and transparency were both very poor.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. They can’t keep ANYBODY in the office at all property manager included. I’ve seen about 5-10 leasing agents go in my year I was there. They have random charges and get rude when you question these charges. Maintenance ain’t shit. You end paying $1100 monthly for a shitty 600sqft apartment. They have really nice updated stage rooms to get you to sign but don’t tell you about the rats, (they moved most people out of building #10 due to rat infestation or they moved on their own) ,roaches ,drain flies ,no pool ,no bbq pits that work ,half ass dirty ass laundry room’s ,slow maintenance turnovers ,unusable basketball courts ,weight room is missing half of weights or the machine is broke ,and most importantly let’s not forget about the hot water. The boiler is ALWAYS broken leaving you with no hot water for days up to weeks. (3 weeks in my experience) while giving the residents NOTHING. No updates on hot water ,no apology ,no discount , NOTHING. & this place is deemed as “student housing” to the city so you cannot get mail there. This place is horrible and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

I don’t know if I made the right decision moving to The Ivy! Less than 48 hrs in and I’m already forced to write this review! Turns out what they advertise to you during the tour is nothing compared to the actual unit (at least, in my case). General Concerns: My entire unit looked like an abandoned, dilapidated nest!. The entire apartment smelled of fermentation, mildew and molds/molds on the windows, etc. Specific Concerns/Emergencies 1) Door: the door is wooden, does not close well from outside and shakes on just a little tap! Seems it could be broken down with just a little pressure. Given that the unit is situated very close to the high way AND NOT GATED, I fear for my safety living in here in that condition! Also, the door handle is rusted and old, and key lock have been compromised with scratches on the door. 2) Balcony: A huge hole on the balcony (which they claim gives access to the roof top BUT with NO covering to protect against RAIN or direct sunlight (which is always the case in every apartment that I have lived). So, when it rains, the entire balcony gets littered and wet. A lot of mildew and algae on the balcony, attracting insects and pests. See pictures! When I requested for the this to be fixed, THEY DECLINED AND SAID I COULD PAY THE CHARGES AND GET OUT OF THE LEASE EARLY IF I WANTED TO!!. This got me really frustrated. Consider the time wasted. How do I proceed to get a new place with the recent price surge? One of the staff even claimed she could comfortable live in such a condition. Really?? Please take a look at the videos and pictures and decide for yourself. I am patiently waiting for Wednesday to get your final take on this matter! Get me a sliding cover on that roof top, clean up the unit and please, replace the door or move me to a new unit! My safety is important I don’t have a problem if these issues are addressed properly. Maintenance arrived this morning and I think the guy is ready and willing to do the job. With just a little coordination, I think this can be achieved! In fact, I will eventually update this review and even increase the rating if this is well handled. We can always come to an agreement without shouting at each other or going into a defensive mode. These are critical issues that need to be addressed and I will be grateful if you do so ASAP. NB: some staff have really been kind and understanding ( I will mention their names in due time) but for now, I need my unit fixed ASAP!. ----------------------- Updated Now 1 star, Just because I could not give a negative star. The 301 Unit which the manager claimed they were renovating for me to transfer to turned out to be worse - nothing short of dumpster (see pictures). I even decided to compromise and stay here, requesting for my door to be fixed, the AC, the Kitchen vent and Still, nothing has been done Eventhough I submitted urgent maintenance requests. Recently, I saw maggots coming out of the kitchen furniture (from within the wooden cupboards) and getting into my food (see pictures). This has gotten out of hand!!! 10 days have passed since I submitted a demand for repairs and I will be taking further steps to address this nonsense. ------------ May I also add that everyone at the leasing office staff Except Tasha, then Denis (the maintenance guy) have been so unwelcoming and so rude? When I went there to complain in good faith about the current situation of my apartment (barely a few days after move-in), The current manager (Robin) spoke so rudely to me at the top of her voice and ordered me to sit down and not respond to her while she's talking. Only Denis and Tasha intervened to calm a situation that almost got out of control. Later, She sees me approaching and gives an attitude of not wanting to talk. I'm sick and tired of this nonsense. Temperature at 89 -90 degrees, I get tired all the time. The maggots/bugs in the kitchen cupboards make me puke! It's affecting not only my physical but mental health. I cannot concentrate in school anymore and have missed several milestones in my research.
