Sentral East Austin at 1614

I moved here June 2025. I lovingly call this part of town “Sillyville” because it’s located in the heart of the East Austin Saltillo District with super fun bars, clubs, eateries, food trucks etc! The streets get pretty wild Friday-Sun but quite peaceful the rest of the time. The Sentral guest service team is professional, responsive & my favorite part, genuinely kind to me & my senior pup.They take immaculate care of the buildings, grounds & amenities. Always fresh, clean & polished. Maintenance is top notch as well. Yes, the fire alarm issue is a bummer but it’s not for a lack of trying to fix it. Hopefully that will get permanently handled here soon, it would be greatly appreciated by all of us Sentral residents & hotel guests!

Our flight was delayed so we arrived around 2:30 AM to find out they had not sent us the code that was acquired for us to access the keys. After about 30 minutes, we were able to get the keys to the room! The first morning at 9:40 AM we were awoken to loud drilling and hammering sounds! They continued so we had to leave the room quickly! Upon checking with the front desk, they assured us that would not happen the next day. The drilling and hammering started around 10:30 the next day! This is not a hotel if you need to show up late or be in the room past 9:40 Also the room had the last person food and coffee stirer on the table

Booking an apartment as a hotel room is a choice I do not regret. It is way more convenient than an actual hotel room. They have everything you need and I mean EVERYTHING. They have the usual hotel stuff like towels, body wash, shampoo, and hand soap. They also have in apartment laundry, laundry detergent, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, toaster, dish soap, pots, pans, oven mitts, spatula, can opener, strainer, trash bags, and the list goes on. Outside of the hairs left in the bed and the dead bug in the bathroom, this place was great. Makes me wonder whether they cleaned the sheets. There is no gym in the building so you'll have to go to Sentral East Austin at 1630 E 6th for a workout.

I lived here for 4 years (2 at 1630 and 2 at 1614) and it was a great experience. Pros: location, maintenance team, great finishes, common areas, gym Cons: Price, parking I love the interiors. Everything looks great and works. If something breaks, the maintenance team takes care of it the next day. One time my sink backed up and so the kitchen was unusable. The leasing office gave me a temporary furnished unit until the issue was resolved. A few times per year, I heard noise from nearby concerts down the streets but it was pretty rare. Occasionally I heard homeless people shouting in the alley (I had a rear facing unit). Residents in 1614 get to use the Arnold gym, which has a real squat rack and plenty of space. It’s one of the best apartment gyms that I’ve used. Overall I would have lived at Sentral longer but I wanted to live closer to my new office.

Great location. Walking distance to cool dive bars. Our guest room was right above a loud bar that played music into the night so not a good idea for a more relaxed time.
