As my time at The Monticello is coming towards an end I have to say, renting for The Westside Group has ruined all other rental experiences for me, I am going to miss living here. They're always so responsive and nice, the maintenance guys are friendly (and fast!) Chris is so helpful, as I am looking at other places and talking to other leasing companies I am appreciating even more what a rare gem these people are. with many of Austin's rentals being controlled by giant companies that don't pick up the phone and only let you communicate with AI "assistance" its so hard to find real people to rent from. The westside group (especially Chris) have been so great and so human. I have been excited to live here ever since my tour, they have made me feel like they value their tenants since I first went to schedule my tour, which I'm now learning is a very rare trait for a leasing company. I'm going to miss this place a lot when I move, if it were in my budget I would never lease from anyone else. (also a million shout-outs to Chris, he's always been so responsive and I really hope there is someone like him at the next place I rent from!!!)

If this place cost $600 a month it would be nice but it’s $875 for a tiny little studio. I chose this place during covid when I had to find a place fast, and I feel I was taken advantage of. Currently have a 1br on manor that has a pool, laundry machine, and dishwasher, is in a better location and costs only slightly more

Westside Group manages this property, and this company is a rare gem: they actually value their residents and take care of them. How do I know? I had to move out early because of a health issue that was being aggravated by the location. The situation was totally out of the landlord's control. They let me out of my lease. It was one of the most remarkably kind and compassionate responses I've ever had from a landlord who was facing financial consequences when they didn't do anything wrong. The apartments themselves are cute, comfortable, and (since I had a corner unit) bright. Gas is included. The utilities were not expensive. I always felt safe here. People sometimes had packages sitting outside their door for days, and I never heard of anything being stolen. I enjoyed living here. Maintenance is awesome. I can't remember his name, but he told me he has 8 pet rabbits. Same day service is the norm. The office staff members for Westside Group are professional, helpful, and consistently good at their jobs. They do not ignore you. Their online portal is solid, and they don't pile on a bunch of fees for basic services the way some places do. Noise carries a bit from the hall to the apartments and from the alley between buildings, but that was never an issue for me. The noise travel between apartments was fine. Normal. The floors are hardwood-style vinyl and good quality. I never had to worry about destroying them trying to live in the space or move things around. The kitchen is small but livable. I cook a lot, and I was able to set things up to my satisfaction. The gas stove is a huge perk. You can't beat the location. It's lovely.

All I wanted when I graduated from UT was to finally have a place to call my own and Monticello was that place for me for 2 wonderful years. Granted, studio living can be small, but it was affordable and exactly what I needed for that phase of my life. They’re in a great location close to classic Hyde Park spots like Quacks and Wheatsville (I love to run and I already miss all my running routes in the area). However, above the affordable rent and even more amazing neighborhood, my favorite part of Monticello was how quickly the management company handled maintenance requests. They took pride in making sure everything was working properly and would respond to any issues (broken hall light, disconnected garbage disposal, loud neighbor) same day which was always reassuring. They were nothing but supportive during my time at Monticello and I would recommend the complex to anybody who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on rent, but still wants to live somewhere clean and safe.

I lived at The Monticello for ten years. I found it a convenient and quiet place for a single individual. This is not a party place. On any occasion that I reported loud noise, management dealt with my concerns. The management also responded quickly to my maintenance requests. The complex is very plain in appearance, but it has many advantages for individuals who may want to give their cars and pocketbook a rest; it is within walking and bus distance to the University of Texas and downtown Austin, as well as to points north. Groceries can be found at the nearby Natural Grocers and FreshPlus. Other basics are also available within walking distance: Walgreens, New World Deli, and Central Market, among others. In recent years, I have made use of several nearby bus lines: the UT Shuttle and Route 5 that run along Speedway, and the Rapid Metro 801 and Route 1 that run along Guadalupe. If you are interested in living in Central Austin in a quiet place that is well-managed, consider The Monticello.
