This property offers a desirable location with convenient access to local attractions and a variety of on-site retail and dining options, complemented by a generally positive social atmosphere and responsive maintenance staff. However, residents frequently report issues with consistently broken elevators, which can be a significant inconvenience, and some express concerns regarding parking practices and overall building security.

Lamar Union’s parking practices feel incredibly deceptive. Despite initially claiming they do not own the surrounding parking areas, public tax records indicate otherwise. After implementing steep parking fees—now around $11 per hour—they offered “the economy” as the explanation. What makes this especially frustrating is the complete disregard for the local businesses that make Lamar Union a destination in the first place. Customers are effectively penalized for supporting these shops and restaurants, while business owners and tenants are left dealing with the fallout. Charging premium rates for parking in a retail center sends a clear message: maximizing revenue matters more than supporting the community, local businesses, or customer experience. Many people choose where to shop, dine, and spend their time based on convenience. Lamar Union has turned what should be a welcoming destination into an expensive and frustrating experience. It’s disappointing to see a property management team prioritize parking revenue over the success of its tenants and the people who support them.

So moving was fine. Everything was great until I went to pay rent for my first month. I was told by the leasing office that with the special I could self-proate. So when I went to pay my rent today it wouldn't let me make an extra payment for the self pro rating amount. Which is not what I was expecting because I didn't want to have to pay the full amount after my whole month was used. If that makes sense. If you've ever self-prorated before you know what I'm talking about. I called the office five times, sent two emails. Had the central leasing office sent them a message to call me back. Never Received a response so I'm super upset about that because now I have to pay the full amount for the remainder of my lease, and that's not what I had planned out. I made sure several times that I could do this before I signed my lease. So I was told the wrong information and I'm super frustrated about it. Disappointed in the lack of communication I added a star only because they reached to me about this. Maintenance is very fast and efficient. I asked that they make sure I'm home before they come over and they gave me a courtesy call beforehand. Thank you Alex Also, the AI phone lady is so bad

AVOID AVOID AVOID Update: it’s been a month since the whole management team changed and in that month: 1. Valet trash stopped picking up. We didn’t stop paying for it but the pickup people just started leaving our trash 2. Someone’s dog peed in the elevator and instead of cleaning it they sprayed a copious amount of perfume to cover it up leading it to actually smell worse 3. The fire alarms have gone off over and over including at 4:30 in the morning for over 20minutes Original review: We’ve lived here over a year and at first had a great experience. However, recently we have had issues with belligerent drunk people and neighbors having raves in their apartments on Sunday and weekday nights. There are signs around the apartment that we’re supposed to have security that patrols but calling the after hours line I was informed we have no security and any noise issues would only be addressed by calling the police. There’s some security guy that sits in the lobby at random days and times during the day but absolutely no one at night? How does that make any sense???
