I have lived at this apartment complex for a little over three years and, prior to this year, I have never once been late on rent—here or at any apartment I’ve lived in since I was 18 years old. The issues began after I transferred from a two-bedroom to a one-bedroom unit and after the property switched to the MyCamden app. On January 1st, I paid my full rent through the app. Despite this, I received an email on January 4th stating that my rent was late and a late fee had been applied. Although I believed this was an error, I paid the late fee at that time rather than arguing with staff. On February 1st, I again logged into the app and paid my full rent, followed immediately by my utilities. I received a confirmation email and my account balance showed $0, indicating everything had been paid. However, on February 4th, I once again received a late rent notice and was charged another late fee. I went directly to the leasing office to resolve this. Management stated that because my confirmation email only showed utilities payment (despite my account showing a zero balance), they could not verify my rent payment. I explained that it makes no sense to pay utilities on the 1st and not rent, especially given my long-standing on-time payment history. Despite this, they only agreed to reduce the late fee by half—still a significant amount—rather than fully waive it. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that in October, my storage unit—along with many others on the property—was broken into, resulting in over $3,000 worth of stolen belongings. Management took no meaningful action, and there are still no cameras near the storage units. Additionally, vehicles have been broken into due to the parking garage gate being broken for weeks. It’s disappointing that management is unwilling to fully waive an incorrect late fee for a loyal, long-term resident, yet ongoing safety and security issues remain unresolved. This experience has significantly changed how I feel about this property.

I want to share my experience living here so that future tenants know what to expect. The management, in my experience, does not prioritize tenant safety or security. For example, instead of addressing frequent issues like broken garage doors or malfunctioning elevators, or ensuring that entry points are actually secure, they focus on minor things like hiring someone to stand by the pool door just to check if you have a wristband to get in. If there’s an incident like a break-in, the management will politely say they’ll review security footage, but they actually won’t do it without a subpoena, which leaves tenants feeling unprotected. Several entry doors remain broken, allowing random people to enter the building. When you bring up these concerns, the staff can be condescending and tend to deflect rather than accept responsibility for their actions or inaction. I also want to highlight that break-ins are not just occasional here; they are constant. In the past month alone, we’ve had several car break-ins. It’s not just cars, either—people frequently break into the bike storage room and steal bike parts, and they also target storage units. On top of that, package theft from front doors is a regular occurrence. All of this happens while management does little to address security issues and fix the root causes. In short, if you’re looking at this property, be aware that security and responsiveness to tenant concerns are major issues.

I moved in about 3-4 weeks ago and everything has been amazing! All of the staff are super friendly and helpful, my apartment is great, and all of the amenities are as well. Not to mention Katie has done an amazing job of helping me move in and make the process as simple as possible (not to mention how friendly she is!)

I toured yesterday with Katie, and she was so helpful. I felt like she is passionate in what she does. The community was beautifully presented, from the hallways, amenities, and lobby space. The value of the apartments is definitely there! If you’re looking in the Rainey area, be sure to check them out! :-)

Looking for a place that offers expensive downtown living, but comes with constant maintenance issues, poor cleanliness, and frustrating shortcuts? Look no further than Camden Rainey Street! This property seems to prioritize cutting corners, opting for cheap vendors and temporary fixes over actual solutions. Take the pool, for instance, it’s been closed for nearly two years, with false promises about when it would reopen. The “move-in dates” keep getting pushed back, leaving residents stuck with no pool in sight. Thinking of enjoying a balcony with a view of Rainey Street? Think again! All balcony doors have had their handles removed, making them inaccessible. Plus, the construction blocking the view means you’re stuck with zero sunlight and a less-than-ideal living experience. Elevators? One has been broken for months, and the other recently broke down too, leaving only one elevator for the entire building. Expect wait times of 10-15 minutes just to leave the building. A major inconvenience. As for security, the garage gate has been broken multiple times, and repairs always seem to take weeks. This has resulted in to many car break ins. Lastly, the amenities are not maintained properly. The trash cans are constantly overflowing, and the cleanliness is appalling, especially when it comes to dog waste. It’s clear the Camden team isn’t investing in regular upkeep. In short: -No pool -No access to balconies facing Rainey Street -Broken gates -Broken elevators -Dirty amenities -High prices Camden Rainey Street, it’s time to stop taking shortcuts! We’re fed up with the lack of action, slow repairs, and poor service.
