Many residents appreciate the friendly atmosphere and various social activities offered, from coffee hours to pancake breakfasts, creating a positive community feel. The property also boasts good security and convenient laundry facilities. However, some prospective residents have expressed frustration with long wait times and a lack of communication regarding applications, and a few current residents have raised concerns about the responsiveness of maintenance and the level of support for health-related needs.

Want a place where your family gets completely ignored? Health needs not met? A place for your family member to more or less just rot? This is the place for your family member. My sister has been living there for years. Her health started to decline rapidly in the past year. We asked for a wellness check on her mental and physical health just for the paper trail. Management decided that was a great time to have her sign a lease for the next year. Of course, they need to make sure they get their money even though it was not needed to be signed until February 2023 instead of doing a wellness check. They didn’t even ask her how she was doing. They told us that they were having someone get her mail. Another lie because my mom checked the mail on Dec 19 2022 and there was early voting notifications in there from October. She is literally starving to death because of health issues. Losing over 200 lbs in less than a year and in the last two weeks of December lost another 20. No one has even made it a point to check on her. To add more the only nurse they have on staff was out since the 9th of December 2022. She was actively being redirected from the care staff to the nurse the entire time only to receive a notice from the apartments on December 20th 2022 that she was not there. She needed a little help with rent in October and she was told when she moved in she could get a grant to help with rent. They sent her the link and told her that she needed to just fill out the form and it would be waived. When she went to the site it showed in bold letters that they had not had rental assistance since March 2022. Another little thing to note: Luckily, she doesn’t need a bus pass but another resident who uses the service was denied a bus pass several times. This was during the pandemic when they were receiving a massive of money from pandemic aid. The person who denied the bus passes does not work there anymore but it’s not because she was fired. She was promoted. There’s more, they are not allowed to have weapons but it obvious that rule is not followed. When this rule was broken and the apartments found out nothing was done about it. Just a slap on the wrist and the weapon was not taken away. Update as of February 2022 - we just found out what money that they don’t spend on programs and maintenance goes to management in the form of bonuses. So they are doing the bare minimum to line their pockets. This is not shocking. Her freezer has been making a popping noise. They told her nothing was wrong. Then come to find out when a new maintenance guy came in they put a thermometer in the freezer and several points over the weekend it was reading 60 degrees. So we are wondering if over the past four years that this has caused her stomach issues. I’m pretty sure she has caught a few food borne illnesses over the years. Fast forward to December 29, 2023 (her lease is up in February): Her toilet has been backed up and she has had a problem with her plumbing and can’t shower or use the toilet in her own apartment. It’s been two months since she was able to use her shower! She is forced to wash her hair and wipe down her body in the sink and she found dry shower products for her body. She has lived there for years and now they blame her even though this didn’t happen for those years before. She was told maintenance would be there today. No one showed. She called and they put the wrong unit number. No maintenance is on site today. More information when I have more time to sit down and write more.

I went to an Open House when I made a visit to Bluebonnet Studios. They gave a short seminar in which a few residents were able to voice their experience with Foundation Communities. Afterwards we had a light lunch and they took us on a tour of the Community. It was a very nice apartment community. Besides the apartments they had different areas that you could make useful. For instance they had computer lab, a kitchen, different areas for residents visiting with each other and book shelves with reading material. I really enjoyed the open house and would love to have been able to live there.
