Shadow Ridge

I recently moved into this hell hole going on 4 months ago. At first things were great I had no complaints aside from parking. On May 27th all hell broke loose. Due to ongoing roof issues that clearly they haven’t fixed from years ago based on the reviews from 2 years ago.my bedroom ceiling has fallen in and I now have a big hole in my bedroom. I’ve requested to be moved to another unit they don’t have any vacancy but I know that’s a lie because there is an empty apartment across from me.i have made it very clear that I have a 9 month old baby and it’s not safe for us to be in her smelling mildew and mold.It has been 2 weeks and counting and nothing has been done for a repair except maintenance coming to put a plastic trash bag up over the hole. The office staff are rude, incompetent, & don’t care about the residents. The office manager Erika Luna is always on her phone anytime I go in the office, doesn’t have anything but excuses and delays. They love to say they will call you back by the end of the day to give you an update but never do. I reached out to the regional manager Chasity bobo & she isn’t any better than Erika.She will email the same response “ I’m planning to come walk the unit today and I have contractors scheduled to come out I’ll update you by the end of the day “. Walking my unit will do absolutely NOTHING for me nor will it fix the issue. On June 12th I reached out to the office for an update on my ceiling being fixed after being told on June 10th it would be fixed the next day. That never happened and when I called for an update the front office worker amee pena had no idea it wasn’t fixed after she was the one that told me they would come out to fix it on June 10th and again said she would call me back with an update by the end of the day. I wouldn’t recommend moving into these apartments to anyone ever.

I’ll begin with I don’t usually do reviews but feel people need to know before leasing . I wish I had known before leasing here again. I have lived here twice in past years and loved it. I recently moved back in thinking this will be where I live being semi and then fully retired. I honestly did not realize until I got moved in just how bad this place has gone down. It looks ghetto with all the blue tarps on nearly every building roof, the trash on the grounds and no rules for and/or lack of enforcing what is stored outside and on balconies. BTW this is the only property on the whole street that has tarps on the roofs, and there are quite a few other apartment complexes around. Stray animals both cats and dogs all over the place. The grass is halfway decent in the front near office but at the back of the property it’s just weeds and dirt. Sprinklers have not run one time. (not sure if they even work) They have some type of green receptacles behind the buildings that are open with wires hanging out everywhere? In other areas there are wires running on top of the ground and up the hill next to stairs. I walk everyday and see all of these things. On weekends and most weekday afternoons there is trash everywhere from lazy people just tossing it on the ground. Kids sent to the dumpster with trash that gets left outside instead of being put in dumpster and even adults do it when there is plenty of room to put it inside. Cars going way too fast through parking lot and radios blaring no matter the time of night. My apartment had numerous things needing attention after moving in and still does have unfinished items. No idea if or when they will be taken care of. Maybe I’m the only person who wants a nice looking apartment to live in without sagging ceilings and busted up door frames, walls and trim? My front door is 2 colors and I’ve asked for paint to to do myself but nothing thus far. Corner strips were placed on a few walls to cover up bangs and dents but were falling off so I bought glue and redid them. The rest still have not been covered. There are other places with the same or less rent that have newly painted , well maintained and repaired apartments. Shouldn’t that be expected? When the person above me walks around it literally sounds like the ceiling will cave in. It is extremely noisy and scary. I have written to the management company (owners) with numerous photos asking if they just do not care how the property looks and the kind of people it will attract, as well as how I do not feel safe living here because of the goings on around me. Folks screaming at one another and carrying on all hours, gun shots in middle of the night and a fairly regular occurrence of flashing lights and police outside. Depending on what you are asking about you might get a decent response from management here but I’ve had more then one rude response or avoidance on taking a call. Messages do not get passed along. Erika did offer to let me move to a different apartment closer to the front, but that cost money that I don’t have. If I’m going to have to move and incur that cost i’d prefer to be released from my lease and look elsewhere at some place I’d feel safe and comfortable living in. I realize some of these things cannot be controlled and would happen anywhere, but most all of them could be remedied with better management. I would tell you to look elsewhere if you want a clean, quiet, safe, and well maintained community to live in. I am embarrassed to invite family or friends here to visit because of all the above mentioned.
