StateHouse Highline on 9th

Extremely disappointing response to a serious maintenance issue I am extremely disappointed with how StateHouse Highline on 9th has handled an ongoing and severe fly infestation in the apartment. This ongoing issue since March has been reported repeatedly since May through official maintenance requests and emails, with multiple photographs documenting the extent of the infestation. The photos show hundreds of flies accumulating inside the apartment, in traps, around appliances, and even inside the freezer annd fridge. This is clearly beyond the occasional household fruit fly and requires professional investigation to identify and eliminate the source. Despite submitting multiple requests, we have received no response at all to our third and subsequent requests. Emails and maintenance communications to Christian manager at the leasing office and Nick Brooker, head of maintenance, have gone unanswered. At this point, the lack of even an acknowledgment is as concerning as the infestation itself. We have made repeated good-faith attempts to have management address the problem through the proper channels and have provided extensive photographic documentation. We are not asking for traps or a superficial treatment—we need qualified pest-control professionals to determine where this significant infestation is originating and correct the underlying problem. Residents should reasonably expect management to respond when a serious, documented maintenance and sanitation concern is repeatedly reported. Months of reports about an infestation without a meaningful response or resolution is unacceptable. I hope posting this publicly finally results in StateHouse management taking the issue seriously, contacting us promptly, arranging a thorough professional inspection, and resolving the underlying source of the infestation.

I would not recommend this apartment. The unit was extremely dirty when I moved in, and it was clearly not cleaned before move-in. I submitted maintenance requests two weeks ago for at least five different broken items that severely impact daily living. No one has come to repair anything, and my messages are ignored. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

I strongly do NOT recommend renting this apartment. The place was in terrible condition upon move-in, with multiple broken essential facilities and terrible cleaning. They charge a cleaning fee at move-out, but it feels like this fee is completely wasted. It’s obvious they do NOT use that money to properly clean the unit for new tenants. I asked management to move me to another unit, and they completely failed to resolve my request. The property management is unresponsive and ignores residents’ issues. Save your time and money, look for another apartment.

Gracie was great in helping us with everything that we needed and made sure to let everyone know. She was awesome!
