I moved out of Peer On 7th after living here for 2 years, and overall I have a phenomenal experience! The management team and leasing office were responsive, usually replying my messages in 2-3 business days. And I was so fortunate to get a move-in promotion that included free utilities and $1,500 gift cards. Also, the PROs of this apartment are location and inside facilties (I think most apartments are well-furnished). I highly encourage someone studying at OSU or working in the downtown area to think about picking this spot. I would definitely go back to this apartment if I return to Columbus in the future. 10 out of 10 recommended!

I am about to move out of this apartment, and after living here for two years, I would like to share my experience. I lived in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit with one roommate. He slept during the day and spent every night playing video games, yelling loudly until early morning. I suffer from severe anxiety and take medication every day, and the constant noise made it almost impossible for me to sleep. At first, I tried to solve the problem respectfully. With my roommate’s consent, I recorded our conversation, during which I simply asked him not to yell late at night. Unfortunately, nothing changed. About eight months ago, I began reporting the issue to the apartment manager. From then on, I met with management almost every two weeks, asking them to fulfill their responsibilities under the lease. Every time, I provided video recordings showing that my roommate’s yelling could clearly be heard from inside my bedroom. However, management’s only response was sending warning emails. After months of complaints, my roommate finally received a “Final Warning,” stating that if the disturbances continued, he would have to move out. Instead of changing his behavior, my roommate made false accusations against me without any evidence. He claimed that I slept with my bedroom door open and that I had tried to force my way into his room. As someone suffering from constant noise, why would I intentionally leave my door open? I only left a very small gap so my emotional support dog could access the bathroom at night. As for his second accusation, after he started locking his door to avoid speaking with me, I simply tried to communicate with him through the door. He later twisted that into a claim that I had attempted to break into his room. I even contacted the police, but they told me this was a matter for apartment management. Every time I spoke with the manager, I was told they needed to discuss the situation with their supervisors and would get back to me soon. Nearly six months passed, my lease was about to end, and I still never received any response or resolution. I also asked to move out early. Surprisingly, even though I was standing in front of the manager, I was told I had to submit the request by email. I did exactly that, knowing it probably would not matter because management rarely responds to emails. As expected, I never received a reply. I am shocked by how this situation was handled. A noise issue lasting nearly a year resulted in little more than a few warning emails and endless promises of discussions that never produced any outcome. My roommate escaped any consequences simply by making unsupported accusations, while all the evidence I provided was ignored. Management ultimately chose not to intervene. After living here for two years, this is the first time I have decided to leave because of poor management rather than the apartment itself. All I asked was for management to enforce the lease and fulfill its responsibility to provide residents with a livable environment. Unfortunately, they failed to do so. At this point, I simply want to end my relationship with this apartment and move on.
