Lived at 923 James in 2010 while attending SU. Small studio apartments, perfect for a graduate student on a budget. Everything included for $365 a month. HOWEVER: The building was very unsafe with homeless people digging through dumpster and sleeping on the steps and walkways. The apartment door opened directly to the outside and you’d sometimes be surprised at someone right in front of your unit’s door. The walls were paper thin. The worst of all was the landlord, Cindy. She was an absolute nightmare to deal with and was VERY confrontational, as was her secretary. She reminded me of a slumlord. Laundry machines were always broken as well.

My rent is due on the first. I’m literally 3 days late and they just served Me with an eviction notice. I was never notified that the employee Mya they have do all their comms is an AI chatbot, a good one at that, and therefore the complex is trying to tell me though I did use a channel of communication they set up, because it is AI the notice of intent to pay is invalid. The frustrating part: the eviction date is the exact date I let them know I’d be submitting the rest of the payment. I ALWAYS pay my rent. I ALWAYS pay any late fees. And I ALWAYS get screwed over in some way by this landlord. My property management company is EXACTLY why Syracuse NEEDS good cause. When I moved in originally I had no heat from NOV-February. I had roaches and mice upon move in. I had an actual hole in my door where a peephole was supposed to be. At one point last summer, my tweaker neighbor threw a futon on the balcony infested with bed bugs and I reported it immediately, maintenance let it sit for two weeks, and a month later I had a bug crawling on me in bed. I reported that, was told my apartment would be treated but never given any follow up, and two months later they forced me to pay for the pest control to get rid of the issue. CUSE NEEDS good cause because ALL we have is SLUMLORDS.

Lifestyle Apartments, and my experience has been very positive. The community is clean, quiet, and well maintained, which makes it a comfortable place to live. Maintenance requests are addressed in a timely manner, and the overall environment feels safe and welcoming. I especially want to acknowledge Shintella for her professionalism and kindness. She is always helpful, responsive, and genuinely cares about the residents. Whenever I have questions or concerns, she takes the time to assist and makes sure everything is handled properly. Overall, Lifestyle Apartments continues to be a great place to live. The staff, especially Shintella, truly helps make this community feel like home, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a well-managed apartment community.

Shintella, she is great girl I met her in lifestyle apartment she is so helpful she helped me to get my apartment just in 2 days and helped me to do my all paperwork I cannot explain into my words how helpful she is. Thankful for her apartment is clean and she is so nice to everyone who came in for new place.

I saw an apartment at The Duchess and it was beautiful! Modern kitchen, hardwood floors with lots of original architectural details. Suzanne was the agent that showed me around and she was very nice, went out of her way to not only show me the apartments but answer all my questions. She took her time and I did not feel rushed like other places made me feel. I’m looking forward to moving in and calling the Duchess my home!
