Lakeside Commons | Townhomes

Things went down hill after I lived there for a few years. Besides lazy staffing, theft of packages in the mail room. Try purchasing a carpet cleaner; I don’t believe my carpets were ever washed. I wish I took a photograph, but, the mop water was literally BLACK. Many issues, and staff who run it with little knowledge, like it is high school. All utilities included, but, I wound up having to purchase my own internet, because their internet was so sporadic.

Lakeside Commons is the biggest regret of my housing choice. They charge premium rent while stripping away the very things that made it worth living here. The shuttle was canceled after I renewed my lease, even though plenty of us used it daily. Their excuse of “low ridership” was baseless — no tracking system was ever in place, and they admitted the decision “would not be reversed,” proving weren’t willing to consider any data provided and it was never about ridership but cutting costs. Now, the 24/7 clubhouse and gym they advertise are no longer 24/7. Instead of fixing access issues like the broken back door, management simply restricted hours, making it unusable for students with busy schedules. And during internet outages, even in midterms and finals, we were told to call the provider ourselves, even though Lakeside is the client. They only acted when an outage affected move-in week and their bottom line, showing where their priorities really lie. Do not be fooled by their marketing. They don’t care about students. Once you’re locked into a lease, the services vanish. I will not be renewing, and I strongly warn others not to live here.

A really cool and affordable place to live with high quality living. Love the private bathrooms each room gets. The house comes fully furnished with an in built washer and dryer set up. My favorite part is they have a private gym and a clubhouse. The reason for the 4 stars is the maintenance sometimes is a little slow if you request it but when they do, they do a fantastic job. Overall highly recommended especially for students as a good alternative to on campus housing.

This is a lovely place for student living. I stayed here for a few weeks during a transition from one living situation to another, and it was great. The staff are all young professionals--former students--but they are kind, responsible, understanding, and professional. Hannah, the new manager, is an absolute joy to work with, and made my life easier in SO many ways during a very stressful time. She was responsible and trustworthy and treated me like an individual, not a number. I can't thank her and Lakeside enough. I personally did NOT have any internet issues, parking issues, mailroom issues, or pest issues at all during my stay. I did have some issues with my outlets not working, and that seems to be something other reviews have mentioned, so the property might want to look into that in the future. However, if you are looking for a nice place to move in with a few friends in the Oswego area, Lakeside is a great choice!

Lakeside Commons is THE place to live when you finally become a Junior that is eligible to live off campus! For people that do not have a car, Lakeside Commons provides a shuttle to get you to and from class every day in a timely manner. If you need to get groceries, they have a shuttle for that too. Lakeside Commons goes above and beyond to take care of their residents and make sure that they are happy with their living situation.
