This building offers a generally pleasant living environment, with many appreciating the modern construction and spacious feel of the units, particularly those with high ceilings and abundant natural light. While some tenants have had positive experiences with responsive management and clear communication, especially regarding initial move-ins, others report frustrations with slow responses to maintenance requests, a lack of transparency with utility fees, and issues with noise and occasional smoke in common areas.

I have been living here for over two years now, and I can say that management has changed for the worst. Tim Porell should be fired on the spot, he never answered my emails I sent in APRIL regarding renting storage space, he doesn’t answer the phone, and I’ve talked about this with multiple tenants and they’ve all had the same experience. I want my storage space, then maybe I’ll delete this.

Just had a viewing, conducted by Mr. Tim. I must say he was very nice, very informative and projected a very welcoming spirit ND was very professional. I am moving into a 1 bedroom apartment and from the looks of things I will be a very happy tenant. Despite the negative reviews I have seen, I must say I cannot relate due to the hospitality given by Mr. Tim. If you see this Tim, just know you are appreciated and I thank you! I look forward to my move-in date. Salute.

This is a new construction building that is decently built and well-maintained day to day. I'm on my second lease, so have been in the building for nearly 2 years. Since I've been here I am noticing a turnover of staff and tenants, and emerging issues with the building management team. I've also noticed that many people with families have moved out from my floor. I believe my floor is predominantly market rate tenants, as it is on a higher floor and one of the floors with extra high ceilings (which are beautiful and makes the apartment feel so spacious). A large number of units in this building were offered as part of affordable housing, and I was unaware until I moved into the building. (Jelly that people are paying like half the rate I am!) My educated guess is that the enormous number of non-market rate units is creating some of the new conditions I am experiencing I wonder if there are issues with the buildings financials (conjecture on my end) as there were a number of reviews mentioning that the building management didn't respond about their security deposit. They once also pasted a past due notice on my neighbor's door--that seemed to make a very public statement that they were 3 months past due on rent. Some things to note: If don't have any issues that need fixing or that can be resolved quickly by the handyman, the building is fine (and as expected) for what I'm paying. One of the newer handymen prefers mansplaining why he shouldn't need to do anything rather than actually doing his job. As someone who is reasonable and is able to handle small inconveniences themselves, I find this new staff person extremely annoying. (e.g. The former handyman told me about various little tricks to ensure that hvac system works well to ensure air quality, and so that there isn't strange smell from the washing machine closet drain. The current handyman gets upset when I tell him that I need him to look at my fire/CO2 alarm which keeps beeping at 3am. I am unable to do anything myself as it's mounted on the ceiling, which is approximately 16ft+ high.) When you do have an issue with an appliance (in my case my washing machine stopped working) you'll be subjected to the incompetence of both the handyman and management team who feign ignorance that you have an issue. A basic repair will take them over two months, and you'll need to constantly chase everyone for anything to happen as everyone tells you that what you are asking for isn't in their control. They'll say one person is doing something, and you'll find out they are not. It took 2.5 months, 2 maintenance tickets, a dozen phone calls, multiple in person visits to the on-site office, 40+ emails, and a lot of my time and energy trying to figure out who is responsible to get a replacement washing machine. It's fortunate that I work from home, and of able body and mind to deal with this painfully abhorrent service. While management continues to send out notices, the smell of cigarette and marijuana smoke in hallways and common spaces continues to be an issue. Why they don't evict tenants who are clearly violating the smoke free lease is a wonder. I am pretty sure it was a factor as to why former neighbors with small children moved out. Fortunately the smoking seems to happen at the other end of the hallway so I don't notice it in my unit at all. For a building marketed as luxury, it fails to provide basics that would make things feel standard (not even luxury). There are no doors or shower curtain rods in the tubs/showers, and no blinds on the floor-to-ceiling windows. We've embraced all the wonderful natural light and the views, and invested in quality blackout curtains for the bedroom. Lastly, you also hear the LIRR. Our primary bedroom is insulated from this sound due to apartment layout, but not the second bedroom or the living room. The windows do a very good job at isolating the sound. You should not open if you don't want to hear the roar of the train during rush hours every 10-15 mins. Otherwise, the noise levels aren't a problem except during rush hour.

I have lived in Woodside Central for two years. I know there are several negative reviews, especially about electricity and management, but my experience has been different. The management responds quickly to any concerns, and communication is clear and accessible. In particular, Katherine, the assistant to the management, has always been kind, professional, and attentive when addressing my questions or requests. Despite what has been said, living here has been a positive experience, and the building offers a pleasant environment.

Lived here for over a year. Glad to finally leave once my lease is up. Would not recommend this place. Walls are super thin so you can hear everything from next door. People are super loud even at odd hours and there is frequent weed smell. The first year and a half there was always construction all morning long. Front door receptionists are great but building management is super unresponsive to emails. Very frustrating. And the lack of transparency around the electrical utility fees. People here are paying way more for electricity than other places. Disappointing experience overall.
