We stayed at the Meurice for about a year and a half before moving out. Great doormen and some nice layouts. As with most of New York, we experienced a significant cockroach presence, especially after rain. Rent will probably go up at the end of your agreement - ours went up over 15% net but we didn’t want to deal with moving so we swallowed it. No bikes are allowed in elevators. For *any* furniture moves (or even large boxes), you must use the service elevator, which is only available Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm with *no* weekend access. Bookings require at least 24 hours advance notice, and all movers must be insured white glove services approved by management. Management can be difficult to work with, roughly 50/50 on answering calls (Shelby is more reliable). When we attempted to arrange a sublet to cover the last portion of our lease -which was explicitly permitted subject to management approval - Matthew told us there was no ‘incentive’ to approve a 3-month sublet and we ended up terminating the lease.

Highly recommend the Meurice. We had a nice, roomy and very quiet 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Friendly building with an interesting history and great location. The doormen, porters and staff were always helpful and the super was quick and very responsive to repair requests. Management also friendly and responsive. A really nice place to live

The staff always makes me smile when I come in. They’re so welcoming. Matthew is always very responsive whenever I need anything. Great building!

Old and dirty structure I had to ask for the change of sheets as there was someone else's hair. Old and dirty toilets. Old and dirty kitchen. Location absolutely to be avoided

I walked into this building after hearing great reviews about it...and I was blown away. While relocating to New York City, after moving out for 15 years, I needed to live in one of these spacious open apartments. Timing was not on my side, and I missed out. I felt like I needed to write a review regarding the kindness of the staff in trying to make this 'great sized' apartment work for my time frame, It did not occur. However, for the future, I hope to move into this building especially for the size and quality....it can't be matched.
