Residents often highlight the genuinely warm and helpful staff as a major positive, contributing to a strong sense of community that makes the building feel like home. While the location offers convenience, some long-standing maintenance issues, particularly with water leaks and elevator reliability, occasionally detract from the living experience.

I also want to recognize the incredible staff here. Sam at the front desk has always been warm, professional, and genuinely helpful whenever I’ve needed anything. He’s been part of the building for so long that his presence is part of what makes this place feel like home. I haven’t crossed paths with him lately and sincerely hope to see him back at the desk soon. Mike, Rafael, Walter, Stacey, Ronald, Carlos, Jean, Octavio (Junior), and the entire team also deserve a lot of credit. The elevators need work, but the people who work here are why residents enjoy living here. I’m happy to call it home and would also recommend it to anyone considering the building.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to after seeing a recent negative comment about Sam at the front desk. My experience has been the complete opposite, Sam has always been professional, warm, and helpful whenever I’ve needed anything. Every resident I know speaks highly of him. The building isn’t perfect, but Sam, Nicole, Mike, Rafael, Walter, Carlos and everyone else on that team are a huge part of why people love living here and why this place feel like home. I enjoy living here and would recommend it to anyone that’s interested.

Around 11:30 p.m. last night I witnessed an employee of this establishment going on a racist rant towards a hot dog stand guy and said " ill have the cops come and send you back to your country!" Out of many years in that neighborhood I have never thought I'll see that with my own eyes. please hold that person accountable and I will send an email to describe the personthat was completely uncalled for do not let this employee reflect this establishment.

My wife and I have lived in The Continental for the past 14 years, and in all that time it has proven to be nothing short of exceptional. When we moved to New York City, it was with the hope of embracing the culinary, cultural, and artistic riches found only here. We chose The Continental with high expectations—expectations that have not only been met, but consistently exceeded. We stay here by choice, not necessity. In our minds, there is no better place to live in NYC. Perfect may be a rare word in this city, but The Continental comes as close to flawless as any place we have seen. For 14 years, the remarkable stability of the entire team—the staff, the management, and the owners—has been one of the building’s greatest strengths. Across New York, buildings come and go through cycles of renovation, disruption, and constant challenges. Yet at The Continental, even as the city vibrates with nonstop change, we experience the same energy but none of the chaos. The building runs with a quiet confidence and a steady hand. The staff attends to even our smallest needs with genuine care. The Spa is a vibrant hub of activity, offering frequent, complimentary events that bring the community together. And the management and owners—this is important—take real pride in every detail of residents’ daily experience. Their commitment is not theoretical; it is visible and felt. After 14 years, we don’t simply live at The Continental—we belong here. It is our home in the truest sense of the word. We love it here, and we recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a place where comfort, community, and quality truly matter.

Honestly, after reading the other reviews, I cannot believe how the same problems from years ago are still happening. We appreciated the view and the convenience the building offers, but our living experience over the past 1.5 years has been a disaster. 1. Consistent water leakage for over a year, the plaster literally fell off, leaving three exposed holes in the ceiling, and we had to tolerate repeated entries from maintenance without the issue ever being truly fixed. 2. Severe flooding in the bedroom, multiple heavy leaks soaked the entire mattress, warped the flooring, and required nearly half of the ceiling to be cut open. 3. Elevators constantly breaking, with residents literally getting trapped. 4. Maintenance knocking and entering early in the morning without proper notice, often multiple days in a row. If you don’t respond immediately, they will simply enter your unit and justify it by saying management allows them to because you “didn’t pick up their notice minutes ago.” 5. Unprofessional attitude, especially Joe, who was openly condescending. Communication is extremely difficult, and they behave as if they are doing you a favor by letting you live here. The building is very old and genuinely feels like it’s falling apart. To be fair, the front desk staff and Nicole have always been kind and helpful, but the management structure itself is chaotic and visibly dysfunctional. For this price point, you can absolutely find a much better building. We would not recommend living here.
