You see an apartment, maybe spend 20-25 mins., looking and checking things out. Like the water pressure in the bathroom or the Dayton function of when the washer and dryer were put in, closet space. I tapped on some of the walls in the living room no problem to hang a picture but in the master, the wall is concrete. But all of the major and small issues, it only becomes known after living here for one 2 month that there are thin walls. The cops have been called because one neighbor is so loud with his or her party that other Neighbors called to complain. The police officer accidentally knocked on my door and that scared the crap out of me, it was actually the people either next-door or upstairs that someone reported some complaints to the local police station. The hallway always has an order. I was told to write the date and time which I did and the reply was not what I wanted to hear. I was accused of smoking, allegedly there were complaints that smoke was coming out of my apartment. The dates that there were complaints, 3 out of the 5 I wasn’t even in the apartment I was away on business. With this heat wave the Common vestibule has been hot and stinky. I think that they should put an AC unit in all the vestibules on the premise. You get the runaround because they don’t know if it’s a Maintenance problem or that they have to outsource to get help . I spent over $200 in cleaning products because the department constantly is dusty, soot and dirt coming in from outside, so it’s disappointing that I can’t keep my windows open . That then forces me to use my AC unit, which is gonna cost me a pretty penny! I paid for a water filter that has broken twice and I’m not in the mood to bother Maintenance again. Now the water filter is giving me lukewarm water. Seems that once you rent an apartment at Hickory everyone forgets about you and never follows up with your questions and concerns. I just can’t get over that. I’m paying this much money and that I have to pay for a parking space. It’s ridiculous that if you live in a one bedroom with two people that you have to pay twice. What couple owns one car these days? I spent three hours cleaning on Wednesday. This is a quick let me capture how the dust forms on my ceiling fan and 18 hours. I wanna make my home in this place comfortable safe and be in a healthy home. As things turn up, I will take pictures and keep you posted.

I’ve lived here for over a year and truly love it! The management team has always been professional, responsive, and very helpful. Whenever we’ve needed assistance, they’ve addressed it quickly and efficiently. I definitely recommend living here!

I’m very pleased with my apartment. I’m here for two years and my only complaint is the drafts from in wall air conditioners. I know it was mentioned that they were going to be covered. That would really help keeping the apartment warm!

In the past 3 years, there has been consistent construction, which has prohibited tenants from being able to park for weeks at a time. The apartments are either sweltering or an icebox with no tenant ability to make temperature adjustments. They have now begun to charge $75 a month for pgage. This year, they have removed the laundry room from the premises. And are frequently cutting off water for one reason or the other. Now they have increased tenant rent (mine for example) by $320 just this year for the parking, the annual rental increase (which i do understand) and an additional $125 since the property tax for the town increased. Property tax should not affect renting tenants as we do not own the property. (If we were able to pay North Jersey property taxes, we likely wouldn't be renting) This used to be a great place to live, but they seem to be trying to push people out and price gauge existing tenants. Plumbing and water pressure have become terrible in the past couple of years as well. I used to preach how great of a complex this was. Now, i do not recommend in the least.
