220 E 72nd Street

I've loved living at 220 East 72nd Street. The building is well maintained, the amenities are great, and the dog park is a huge bonus for pet owners. What really sets this building apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, professional, and responsive. They go above and beyond to make residents feel at home, and it's clear they genuinely care about the people who live here. From the amenities to the service and overall living experience, this has been one of the best places I've lived in New York City. Highly recommend!

We lived at 220 E 72nd Street for three years. The gym is great, and the location is hard to beat, with the Q train right across the street and Central Park just a short walk away. But what made it truly stand out was the team. In a building of 140 apartments, not everything is always going to be perfect, and that's expected. But what you can count on here is that any issue is handled quickly and with care. The staff is responsive, the common areas are spotless, and you can tell that everyone takes real pride in what they do. A special mention to the doormen crew, the porters, the handymen, as well as the building manager. We always felt safe and genuinely looked after. We are relocating to California but will miss this building and its people!

This is by far the worst building we’ve ever lived in NYC. Starting at elevators, prepare for long waits even longer in rush hours. Cockroaches on kitchen and bathrooms no matter how pristine you keep the apartment. Handlers of doors came out all the time, kitchen lights go off every 2 moths. Boiler gets out of service in winter due to overcapacity of the building. And finally - after 2 years living in the building and leaving the apartment in moving in condition, patched, painted and hospital level clean, we had to put a legal complaint to get our deposit back, more than 3 months after moving out. Avoid at all costs - there are much better rental buildings in the UES. European expats - don’t get trapped by the realtor showing fancy stuff. Find another rental building, you will have a much better experience.

My husband and I lived here for two years and LOVED the building. The units are all newly renovated, and the amenities are top notch, including the roof, the lounge/children's playroom, and the gym. Each employee (doormen, super, porters, etc.) are all so incredibly gracious, helpful, and very responsive when you need anything. The location is PERFECT - directly across the street from the Q subway, and a short walking distance to Central Park and all of the great restaurants that are newly opening uptown. We are so sad to be leaving as we relocate to Massachusetts - but are so grateful for the time spent in 220!

Great location with convenient access to buses/subway and shops. Entire building management & concierge staff team is awesome; friendly, courteous, & professional. They are always on top of matters. It has been great 4 years of staying at the property, thanks!
