22 Chapel

My partner and I lived at 22 Chapel for four years. It felt like home from the first week and stayed that way until the day we handed back the keys. The things that matter in a rental: 22 Chapel gets them right. Maintenance requests were handled quickly, almost always same day. Packages never went missing. The hallways, gym, and rooftops stayed consistently clean. The apartment itself was quiet, well-lit, and the views held up through four years of weather, which is not an easy thing to say about a New York building. Subway access is strong, with a short walk to plenty of lines running in every useful direction. What I will miss most is the people. Shout out to Kelvin and Chris at the front desk, the first faces you see walking in and two of the warmest, kindest humans you will ever meet. They knew us by name, knew our dog by name, remembered small things about our week, and made every trip in and out of the building feel like a small moment of care. The building would not be the same without them, and I mean that. Lynnette was our leasing contact from move-in through move-out, four years apart, and she was consistent the entire time. Responsive, patient, thoughtful, and straightforward about anything we asked. She answered emails and phone calls on timelines that felt handled by someone who cared about the outcome. I appreciate all of the staff in this building so much. Thank you again to everyone there that makes 22 Chapel great.

I lived at 22 Chapel from December 2023 to July 2025, and it was easily one of the best living experiences I’ve had in 15 years of living in New York City. The leasing team was responsive, helpful, and flexible throughout the application process. The doormen, porters, and maintenance staff were all incredibly friendly and professional. The building is spotless, my one-bedroom apartment was spacious, and the location is hard to beat. It’s about an eight minute walk to both the York St. and Jay St. / MetroTech subway stations. You get significantly more bang for your buck compared to an overpriced, undersized apartment in DUMBO. I had moved to 22 Chapel from Magnolia DUMBO and never felt like I had to compromise on space, comfort, or convenience. If I had to mention one minor downside, the bathtub was a bit small for someone who’s 6'3", though I appreciated having one at all since many NYC apartments don’t even have them these days.

22 chapel has been the best living experience in Brooklyn by far. Dynamic views of downtown BK the financial district and bridges. The staff is top notch amenities always clean, close to major subway lines. Great place to live.

Worst apartment ever! There are many problems with the indoor facilities, especially the air conditioning. Admin and maintenance teams are not productive. When I tried to talk to them about my lease, it took 40 days for the leasing office to respond to my emails. Just try to find somewhere else, it didn't meet any of my expectations for a new apartment.
