Stay away from Fairfield especially the one in Hauppauge. Leasing agent is completely useless and rude. That goes for maintenance as well. There are cockroaches that I found 2 days after move in. I contacted maintenance who gave me a set date on when the exterminator would come. I staid home from work and of course the exterminator did not show up. I called maintenance back who said “ I will be first on his list the next time he comes which is in 2 weeks”. Guess what? I took off of work again and the exterminator did not show up AGAIN. After absolutely losing my mind to the Fairfield office, I was finally sent an exterminator after 2 more weeks. Parking: is horrible spots are so close together that it’s hard to get out of your car. I reached out to the leasing agent Michelle, (who is the rude and useless one) and she did not respond to be about a different parking spot. Noise: You can hear EVERYTHING from surrounding apartments. Price: let alone the apartments themselves being so overpriced for what you’re getting, but the washer and dryer ( 2-in-1 unit) doesn’t wash or dry well so I was forced to pay extra money and make sure I have quarters on me to use the shared and gross washers and dryers in the basement which is also infested with spiders and roaches. When I moved out I made sure I left the apartment cleaner then how I received it and I have pictures to prove it. Maintenance and leasing told me they would be at my apt at a specific time for a moving out walk through and GUESS WHAT I took off work again and no one showed up. 2 weeks later I received my security deposit back with $23 removed for property tax… what??? I reached out to leasing office who had no idea what I was talking about. I reached out to a lawyer who told me they should not be charging property tax at the end of rentals lease. I reached out to Fairfield again who hasn’t responded in 10 days so far. DO NOT RENT FROM FAIRFIELD. Has caused me nothing but heartache and headache. I had friends looking for apartments in the area and better believe I had them stay FAR AWAY from Fairfield apartments.

The only "luxury" feature of this place is the rent. The craftsmanship in the apartment is sub-par, the appliances are low-end, the carpeting and/or flooring they put is builder grade and do not hold up well. The staff threaten their residents weekly whether about parking (which is horrendous, by the way, more about that later), and most recently sending an email about our use of toilet paper (and threatening to fine us $250 if we are found to be using anything other than toilet paper, i.e. baby wipes -- still wondering how they'll find that out in the privacy of my own bathroom). The parking is only available to residents. If you have guests, they cannot park in the parking lot, at the nearby bank parking lot, or anywhere else (so if you entertain, this place isn't a good option). To break a lease, they require THREE months of rent, not to mention that they raised the rent during COVID (as they do every year despite upgrading the land or the facilities). You can hear your neighbors through the walls, you can smell their cigarette smoke through the plumbing and ventilation (I've come home from work in the past to an apartment smelling as if someone smoked all day in it, I am not a smoker). It takes them days to shovel the walkways during snowstorms, and they plow the parking lot in a way that creates a mound of snow behind your car. The garbage truck does not come as often as it should, causing mounds upon mounds of garbage to pile up. They have basement space they have threatened residents if used. Look elsewhere, do not rent from Fairfield.
